Bible Reading: Ezekiel 3: 1-14

And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it ; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.

Ezekiel 3:3

Welcome to the month of “Restoration Of The Glory.” I wonder why believers lack  interest in the word of God. They jump into prayers and music not knowing that the best is God’s word. We see Christians not interested in buying good Bibles and Christian. Some do not find interest in listening to God’s word. The truth is, the word should be sweeter then honey to a believer. Even the hard things of the Word become sweet to those who take them in and think them through. Even the rebukes, reproofs, and corrections become satisfying. If the Word of God is not satisfying you it’s because you’re no more in faith. If you hear some preachers and you feel he has nothing to deliver to you, is a sign you are proud and empty. You cannot go far with that mentality. This incident reminds us of Jesus teaching that people cannot live only on food but also on the Word of God to sustain their lives (Matt. 4:4).

Prayer Point: Lord, Give me a sweet spirit to humble myself to enjoy God’s word.

Bible Reading: Ezekiel 3:152

When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Ezekiel 3:18

A watchman holds a very important responsibility in our society. They watch, protect, secure, and preserve life and property. God has called all believers as  watchmen, to be their brother keeper. We do that by preaching and praying for sinners to repent, failure to do that will bring judgment on the believer. A father should not only be a watchman to others but also to his children. Many don’t want to be hard on their children on obeying the word of God. God says to us, “If you do not warn them that they are going to die in their sins, I am going to hold you responsible. However, if you warn them and they continue in their disobedience and die in their sins, you will not be responsible.” We are also told that God has made us as a watchman. This was an assignment, not an invitation.  We have to do the job required of us.

Commitment: I promise to spend my money and my time to save sinners and involve in preaching to neighbors.

Bible Reading Ezekiel 4: I-17

Thou also, son of man, take thee a tile, and lay it before thee, and pourtray upon it the city, even Jerusalem: Ezekiel 4:1

Symbol, signs, images and picture are tools for imagination. What you see is what you will always get. We should be very careful of images and symbols we display in our homes. In this chapter what Ezekiel was to do was to draw the city of Jerusalem on the brick, and then he was to break the brick to show that the city was going to be destroyed. Most of us have built models: houses from clay, planes or cars perhaps a village scene. Ezekiel was actually called by God to build a model, but one that had nothing to do with play. This drawing and symbol of destruction was visible to the people of Israel for 390 days. Now Ezekiel was to take an iron pan and put it between himself and this picture of Jerusalem which he had made to show that God had put a wall between Himself and the city of Jerusalem. The destruction of the city was inevitable. What a dangerous visualization of doom. Why not envision great and beneficial things for yourself?

Practical: Use the next 10 minutes to imagine who you want to be in the next 5 years based on God’s word.

Bible Reading: Ezekiel 5: l- I 7

And thou, son of man, take thee a sharp knife, take thee a barber’s razor, and cause it to pass upon thine head and…..  Ezekiel 5:1

We saw how Israel was practicing detestable things and God want to judge them for such. Before we blame Israel for their disobedience we should know that some of our children disobey like the Israelites. Many a times we query some people or our children on things not do, they will not take it serious. We saw how God demonstrated His anger on the Israelites for their disobedience. In Ezekiel chapter 5 we see how Ezekiel was told to dramatize the fall of Jerusalem. Ezekiel was instructed to shave his head and beard, measure it and divide the hair, some part he scattered it in the air, other all around the city, other burn by fire etc. Even though is a dramatized prophetic instructions it is the power of creative imagination practice for the destruction and fall of Jerusalem. This is the reason I am against some kinds of drama they act in God’s alter. You produce forces of action on any symbol you dramatize that you can draw meaning to. We should be careful.

Prayer Point: Lord, help me not to us things that are meant for play for self destruction in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Ezekiel 6:1-14

Thus saith the Lord God ; Smite with thine hand, and stamp with thy foot, and say, Alas for all the evil abominations of the house of Israel!…… Ezekiel 6:11

The society uses any godly things which are meant for the church to harm one another. Once the new age, voodoo, black magic and secret society take it over, the church quits from such practice. Today if you practice or talk too much on meditation, visualization, imagination etc, people will tell you it is through the power of the devil and other Christian/Pastor will condemn and speak evil against you. Can you see how the new age took what we should use to destroy one another? Like in voodoo a doll is thought to represent an individual by those who practice “ black magic.” What is done to the doll will be done to the person it represents according to his way of thinking. In a way, the doll is the person. In our previous two days studies we saw how God gave Ezekiel instructors on how to use object to represent Israel and Jerusalem that affected them seriously.  Whatever we do should be for the blessing of humanity.

Prayer Point: Lord,  give me a weeping heart so I can have the burden to pray and cry for my people.

Text: Hebrew 11: 27-29

Memory Verse: By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured, as seeing Him who is invisible Hebrew 11:27

PREVAILING OVER FEAR BY FAITH: Heb 11:27, Ex 10:28,29; Ps 112:7

Faith strengthens the heart and delivers us from the fear of man. Faith and fear are opposite, where one is dominant, the other is dormant. The fear of man is a negative force, a tool of Satan, that weakens and paralyses man. Fear makes a man to tremble before a fellow man and to melt away when faced with duty or divinely appointed responsibility. Faith enables a man to shun the smiles or frowns of men. A man with God-given faith refuses to be discouraged by the greatest problem.

“Faith survives the fires of Satanic assault and flourishes under the dews of the Spirit” This is faith that conquers sin and all its consequences; faith that overcomes the world and the flesh; faith that conquers sickness and death; faith that conquers Pharaoh and his army; Egypt and all his magicians; faith that opens a way through the Red Sea; faith that brings permanent deliverance.

PASSAGE THROUGH THE SEA BY FAITH: Heb 11:27, Ex 14:13-16, 21-31; Mark 9:23

What an obstacle, what a difficulty, what a problem Israel had before the Red Sea. Hedged in all sides, the sea in the front, a blood-thirsty army behind, the nation of Israel found herself in an impossible situation. By faith they passed through. They could not fight- they had no strength nor  weapons, they could not fly- there was no natural way of escape, yet they passed through. When all natural means fail, there is a supernatural means – faith that provides a way of escape.

By faith we can pass through any Red Sea before us. Fear not; stand still and consider what God can do; see the salvation of the Lord by faith; then “go forward” in obedience to His commands. He has opened the Red Sea. He never fails those who fully trust and unreservedly obey Him.

Then beware lest thou forget the Lord, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt from the house of bondage. Deuteronomy 6:12

Moses took time to remind the children of Israel of all the good things that God did for them. How He rescued them from the hand of the Egyptians and other nations of the world.

In Deuteronomy 6:10-12 Moses told them that God is about to bring you into the land He promised your father, that they are going to inherit the good things of life that they did not labour for.  But Moses told them to be careful not to forget their God. The same thing is applicable to us today.  How many people will still remember God in their moment of comfort?  How many Christians will still be faithful and obedient to God in their moment of blessing?  Can God trust you with his resource and it will not be wasted? The blessings that supposed to draw us closer to God have taken many Christians away from God.  Moses understood the people he was dealing with that was why he took time to remind them never to forget their God.

What does it mean to forget God?

Bible Reading: Ezekiel 7: 1-14

An end is come, the end is come: it watcheth for thee; behold, it is come. Ezekiel 7:6

We saw in the books of Jeremiah and Ezekiel God repeatedly talked about the  captivity and distraction of Jerusalem. Why was God repeating it in every chapter? (1) is for them to repent and change their ways. (2) What you say often will be released into the spiritual realm and create what you say. So God was using repetition to establish what He wanted to make happen. Why was God going to destroy and make them suffer? Was their sins more than other nations around? No. To whom much is given, much is required.  There are things others will do I will not feel bad, if my child or someone I love does it, it will result to offense. Over petting is the major problem why those close to us misbehave and we find it difficult to chastise them. What was the sin of Israel? They were doing things the way other nations around was doing.  God expect you to do things differently. How will it look like if a pastor’s wife or children dress and make up like free people? It is not a matter of what they like to do.  It is a matter of whose image they represent.

Prayer Point: Pray for a willing and obedience heart.

Bible Reading Ezekiel 8: 1-18

Then said he unto me, Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north…… Ezekiel 8:5

Ezekiel was caught up in a vision while his physical body was with some of the elders of Israel. God wants to unveil why His presence was turned to Wroth. He was carried to northern gate where the King usually comes in, an idol was stationed there. He was told to dig a place through a wall to a room, he was surprise that prominent elders of Israel was involved in idolatry they belief that the gods are part of everything and that everything is a god. God took him to the inner court and in the spirit he saw twenty-five men at the entrance of the Lord’s temple, with their backs to the Lord’s temple and their faces turned to the east. They were bowing to the east in worship of the sun. What do you think of our churches today? If such a cultic people or church elders are practicing idolatry how do you think such church can go forward accept God reveals them.  Some people thought they could get away with what they were doing.

Lord, open my eyes to see those who are hindering me not to move forward.

Bible Reading Ezekiel 9: 1-11

And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city… Ezek 9:5

Ezekiel is the vision and the executioners of the city were called to take their destructive weapon to kill all those who were not marked by a man clothed in linen carrying writing equipment. Those marked were those who rejected, groan or weep over all the detestable practices. The executioners was to cut everyone in the city both old and young starting from the house of God. In the vision all those without burden for the spiritual backwardness of the house of God were killed. When Ezekiel saw all these in the spirit, it may appear nothing has happened immediately but months and years tell of the effect of the cleansing. It may not be through death, but God deals with everyone in different ways to carry out His cleansing and rebuild His work afresh. There is a “sin unto death” (1 John 5:16) that requires firm judgment. The occult agents of hindrances in our lives, God will execute them spiritually from our life and community so we can see the light of God’s blessings and presence.

Prayer Point: Lord, execute those who are agent of tribulations and wrath in my life and family in Jesus name.

Bible Reading Ezekiel 10:1-22

Then the glory of the Lord went up from the cherub, and stood over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud….. Ezekiel 10:4

We can compare Ezekiel chapter 10 and Chapter 1 side by side. Chapter 1 was addressed to the exiles whereas this is addressed to rebels in Jerusalem. The beautiful thing about this vision is after God has finished executing judgment on Israel and all the adulterous people who are elder and are the one hindering the presence of God were killed then God restored His Glory. After God cleansing the community or church by removing the strong men we start seeing His power. God sent His Son because He loves you. Because He is holy, He had to pay the penalty for your sin and mine; He had to die on the cross. Christ is the propitiation, He is the mercy seat for our sins not for ours only, but for the sins of the whole world. There is a mercy seat which you can come to, but if you reject it, the judgment of God must come upon you.  If leaders are corrupt, they will be rejected and destroyed along with the rest. There is no pulling rank with God.

Prayer Point: Remove all hindrance from me and let your glory rest on me.

Bible Reading Ezekiel 11:1-25

Then said he unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise mischief, and give wicked counsel in this city: Ezekiel 11:2

As at 598 B.C when these visions took place there were already corrupt leaders, who were looking for opportunity to loot money and land for themselves. God was angry with their greed  and not for the progress of His work. Our society and government is filled with corruption. True believers who suppose to make a difference in politics refused to be part of it, thus, leaving government opportunities for sinners to lead us. We should stop leaving politics to them because they have nothing to offer the society. God will one day judge politician who rule with wickedness. We shall give account of whatever we do one day whether good or bad. No matter how much you have, one day you will leave them, what you spent for God will count. We came with nothing and we shall go with nothing. Is it not time to build houses and spend money on our body when people need to be reached through television, radio and other production.  Giving will help in reaching to more people.

Prayer Point: Lord, give me the spirit of understanding so I can do the right things.

Bible Reading Ezekiel 12: I-28

Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; ……..Ezekiel 12:2

We live side by side with rebellious and wicked people. They practice mischief. Evil is in their imagination on a daily bases. They are happy when they kill and destroy others. The fear of God is not in their mind. God will bring them into judgment one day. On the other hand, we see people who despite teaching and preaching they insist in their ways of thinking. They lack understanding of God’s word. When you tell them not to dress in an inappropriate manner they will tell you that you are giving them restrictions. Someone once told me if you correct people to behave themselves in a godly manner in dressing and appearance, he said, you are interfering with their freedom of living. He said people should live the way they want without restricting them how they should live their lives. If what he says is correct then there is no need of Bible because it is God’s word teaching us how we should live. We should obey whether is convenient to us or not. Laws are given by countries so we cannot abuse the freedom. Prayer Point: Lord, open my heart of understanding to obey God

Text: 11: 30,31

Memory verse: By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days Hebrew 11: 30

CONQUERING BY FAITH: Heb 11:30, Joshua 6:3-5, 12-16, 2 Cor 10:4,5

Before coming to Jericho, a powerful fortress barring them to enter the promised land, the Israelites had crossed river Jordan by faith. To enjoy the benefit of the previous act of faith we must overcome the present obstacle by faith. Israel was faced with formidable difficulties and powerful  oppositions.  To unbelievers, Jericho and the other cities seemed impregnable, but faith laughs at impossibilities. Satan’s strongholds cannot stand before godly people of faith who rely on God and obey His Word implicitly.

God’s instructions to Israel were simple. Those instructions might have seemed childish or ridiculous. God promised to deliver Jericho into their hands if they would only believe and obey. And divine power overthrew Jericho’s walls when Israel manifested the obedience of faith. At the command of the Lord they were to be silent, and at the command of the Lord they were to shout. Implicit obedience to God’s Word is absolutely essential if we are to have His blessings.

CONFESSION OF FAITH; Heb 11:31, Joshua 2:8-12,18-21; Rom 10: 8-10

Others in Jericho heard the same things that Rahab heard. What they heard brought fear in their  hearts but she had faith. Rahab’s   confession was full and sure. She accepted the testimonies as true. She exalted God because if His wondrous works. She acknowledged Him as the God  of heaven and earth. She was sure that God had given the land of Canaan to His people. With an expectant faith she asked for mercy and salvation, not only for herself but for her household. Her faith perceived something of the infinite mercy and grant grace to her as well as her family. Her confession and demand revealed her faith. Our confession is absolutely inseparable from our faith.

The effect and reward of faith is alway

From henceforth let no man trouble me; for I bear in my body the mark of the Lord Jesus. Galatians 6:17

Slay utterly old and young, both maids and little children, and women: but come not near anymore upon whom is the mark: Ezekiel 9:6.  That was the instructions that God gave the angels on assignment. They were told to destroy everything but never to come near any man that carries the mark of Christ on his head.  They were free from destruction not because they are strong but because they bear on their body the mark of Christ. That is how much God love His people.  He can do anything to protect His people.  The security forces of the whole universe cannot guarantee protection, only Jesus can guarantee that. The question is, do you have the mark of Christ? If you do, then you are covered by the power in the blood of Jesus. It means that what kill other people cannot kill you.  It also means that you are free from every operation of darkness.

1. What is the mark of Christ?

2. How can one have the mark of Christ?

Bible Reading Ezekiel 13: l-23

Thus saith the Lord God ; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! Ezekiel 13:3

There are three kinds of false prophets. The first, they consult familiar spirit and black magic  to get information to prophesy as if it was God who gave them such vision or prophesy. They use the spirit of divination, enchantment, hypnotism etc as a medium of getting information. This is evil and God will judge them one day. The second group of false prophets are those who hire people to confirm prophecy. They use prophecy and miracles as if it’s a “drama”. Sometimes they get people information through social media and friends to prophecy. At other times they plant people to give them information or what they discourse previously are turned to prophesy in public display as if it is a revelation. These are deception. The third kind of false prophets are those who use gimmick, trial and error. They guess and use their personal brain to prophecy. They premeditate what they want to say base on what they already heard or suspect. We should flee from anyone who practices false prophecy.

Prayer Point: Lord, help me not to fall into the hands of false prophet.

Bible Reading Ezekiel 14: 1-23

For every one of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel, which separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart……… Ezekiel 14:7

In our previous teaching we saw the danger of receiving prophecy from false prophets. In Ezekiel 14: 10 God says He will punish the prophet who gave out those false prophecy and He will also punish those who went to receive word of prophecy. To live a free life, look unto God not seeking to hear prophecy.  Some girls are bent on marrying a guy who is unfit for them according to Bible standard and nobody can convince them otherwise. Some made up their mind on what they want to do before they go to their parents or Pastor for counsel. God said if you make up your mind on what you want to do before you pray or seek for counsel, He will answer you according to your mind. This is why some people have some dream and conclude it from God but they did not now the dreamed was to confirm the idol in their mind. It is clear in Ezekiel 14:16, 19,20 that the faith and anointing on a prophet cannot save or rescue his children it has to be by their faith and righteousness.

Prayer Point: I rebuke every idol in my heart that will lead me to destruction.

Bible Reading Ezekiel 15:1-8

Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire devoureth both the ends of it, and the midst of it is burned. Is it meet for any work? Ezekiel 15:4

After a wood is burnt by fire can the wood be recovered from it to make something useful? If you pour a bucket of water on a field can you recover that water and make proper use of it? God value us and considered us to be useful that is why He brought us into the world. Whatever He did was right. He fore knew the best sex, color, family and nationality that is good for you. His choice is the best and you have nothing to do about it. After giving you His best, you are supposed to yield fruit to Him by been useful in His vineyard. God will spit us out of His mouth if we are not productive in His service. What are we suppose to do as believers? We are to be involved in winning souls. To do this we have to talk to people about Christ and convince them to be born again. Secondly, you have to be financially involved in church project that will help in reaching out to sinners. To be useful, you have to serve in the church in the best way you can.

Prayer Point: Lord baptized me with the spirit of willingness to serve and work for you.

Bible Reading Ezekiel 16:1-63

But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was. Ezekiel 16:15

Jerusalem’s unfaithfulness to the Lord is compared to a prostitute’s unfaithfulness. Jerusalem had special status as God’s chosen place. The infidelity of the city began with Solomon’s introduction of idolatry and his creation of multiple shrine sites for the idolaters to worship at (1 Kin. 11:1– 10). The wealth and beauty of the city became increasingly devoted to idols. When people start making money they start misbehaving. God chose Jerusalem as His special city (Deut. 12:5, 11, 14), and when David captured the central, fortified part of the city from the Jebusites, he made it crown property, separate from any of the tribal holdings, and also the nation’s capital. It is encouraging to realize that we are already in that “everlasting covenant” if we are in Christ (Gal. 3:29). Our future home is the New Jerusalem, which we will inhabit joyfully in fulfillment of this promise of faithfulness on God’s part.

Prayer Point: I confess all my sin and unfaithfulness. Have mercy on my, oh Lord

Bible Reading Ezekiel 17:1-24

Seeing he despised the oath by breaking the covenant, when, lo, he had given his hand, and hath done all these things, he shall not escape. Ezekiel 17:18

Because Israel would not listen to God, Ezekiel had to come to these people in a strange and unusual way. This great eagle is none other than Babylon and Nebuchadnezzar, the present king of Babylon. The eagle is a figure that is used as a symbol for Babylon. Who is the tree? It is Jesus through the royal house of David. Nebuchadnezzar is going to clip it off and bring it to naught. The interesting thing is that Nebuchadnezzar kept his side of the covenant. God’s people broke the covenant. What a picture! In some churches you will find people still carrying their Bibles, but their hearts are far from God and you cannot believe what they say. On the other hand, there are business that the unsaved will not involve themselves on but you see Christians doing it. Sometimes God allows a godless nation or political leader to harass and actually destroy His  people who claim to be God’s people but have departed from Him. If you repent He will be willing to forgive.

Prayer Point: Lord, make me sensitive so I can understand the things of God

Bible Reading Ezekiel 18: 1-32

Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die. Ezekiel 18:4

God is telling us the person who sins is the one who will die. God gave example clear enough to understand, He said suppose the man has a son, who sheds blood and does all the bad stuff, though the father is holy while the son eats at the mountain shrines and defiles his or herself in clubs and in party

and when he oppresses his friends and commits robbery and commits detestable acts, and make money unjustly or lies ? He will not live! Since he has committed all these detestable acts, he will certainly die. His death will be his own fault and deliberate live in sin and deception. To be a pastor’s daughter and son cannot save you in the day of judgment. The person who sins is the one who will die. The righteousness of the righteous person will be on him, and the wickedness of the wicked person will be on him.  If a righteous person turns from his righteousness and acts, unjustly and started living in sinful practice he will go to hell at last.

Prayer Point: Help me Lord to examine myself so I can be holy.

Text: Hebrew 11:23-26

Memory Verse: Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season Heb 11:25

DECISIONS WITH GOD: Heb 11:25, Ps 91:1-5, Ex 2:1-10

Decisions determine destiny! Our decisions have far- reaching effects on us and many others. The decisions of the parents of Moses had effect, not only on the family but on the whole nation of Israel. And the decision of Moses! We would not have heard anything about him but his choice, his decision. Because of his decision, Israel was delivered from bondage, God’s covenant with Abraham was fulfilled, God’s power was made known to Egypt and the world, divine revelation in written form has become available to the whole world. Our decisions reveal who we are and also determine how useful or useless we would be in life. Our decisions determine where we shall spend eternity.

Some seemingly simple and unimportant decisions have great consequences. When decisions are taken in fear, unbelief, or because of negative reaction, revenge and frustration, we may unknowingly be committing the spiritual suicide. Every decision would be taken in faith. There will be no regrets when we take our decisions with God . Take no decision without God.

The parents of Moses of Moses were married at a difficult time in Egypt. And Moses was born when there was an edict to destroy all male infants. The parents hid the child for three months. When it became impossible to continue hiding the child, they took another decision- a decision of faith. Moses was preserved, Israel was delivered, the whole world was blessed!

PROTECTION RECEIVED BY FAITH: Heb 11:23, Ex 2:1-10, Acts 7:18-21

Our decisions either bring God on our side or make Him to be against us. Decisions of faith shield and protect us from Satan while decision of unbelief expose us to Satan and his agents.

The parents of Moses received divine protection for the child because they  acted in faith. The strong, spiritual, supernatural faith they had in God strengthened and sustained their hearts in the  crisis. Their faith in God overcame the fear of man. Faith enables us to look away from human terrors, and to put out trust in the unseen, invisible God.

In time of persecution, the promises of God are our great protection. If we believe in God, all the laws which men make against the promises that God has given to His Church are doomed to certain failure.

And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, let us go up at once and possess it, for we are well able to overcome it. Numbers 13:30

But the men that went up with him said, we be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we verse 31. No nation has ever seen the hand of God like the children of Israel: Crossing the red sea, manner from heaven, water from the rock, He walked among them as pillar of cloud by day and pillar of fire by night.  If you cannot see what God has done in your life, you may not be able to enter into His promises for you.  People that left Egypt could not enter the promised land  because they limited God in their mind.  They could not remember all the victory that God gave them against their enemies. The negative report they gave means that God is not strong enough to fight for them.  They were looking at their strength instead of looking at the ability of God. We have many Christians today that limit god in their thinking. I know god can help me but not on this one, that is a limitation.

How can one limit God in his mind?

Bible Reading Ezekiel 19: I-14

And he went up and down among the lions, he became a young lion, and learned to catch the prey, and devoured men. Ezekiel 19:6

No one wants to associates with devourer. This is waster of resources. They see nothing good with you. They are ready to pull down what you have built. They have nothing to lose. You have all the things to lose. If you pick up a fight with a pig he will enjoy the mire but you have stain yourself with the dirt. Those who destroy others don’t know the consequence of what they are doing, they are catching fun. If you see the drunk, those who take hard drugs, go to late night party and involve themselves with bad and evil practices they feel they are good and catching fun. They never know they are dirty like the pig and they wouldn’t know how dirty they are. Such people are devourer of themself. That is self destroyer. Such people never know what they do is evil and dirty because they are blind and ignorant. The demon from hell has entered them and blinded their eyes so they see bad stuff as good.

Prayer Point: Help me know the devourers around me so I will not be entangle with their vices.

Bible Reading Ezekiel 20 it-49

And that which cometh into your mind shall not be at all, that ye say, We will be as the heathen, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone. Ezekiel 20:32

Before a one involves in worldly practices he most have accepted and nursed the thought. If he did not accept it no matter where he lives and the influences around him, he will not imitate worldly practices. It is evil to imitate the people of the world. What good things do you see in the world? Is it dancing to the tune of worldly music, pride of life and doing drugs?  Why should a child of the Kingdom imitate worldly people? The Bible says come out from among them and be separated.  You can be in a city filled with iniquity and still live pure. You are in that city but the practice of that city and the people is not in your mind. When I was between the age of 16 and 20 I lived with

people who took hard drugs, smoke, drink, go to party and dress inappropriately. People have given me marijuana and girls to sin with but because I am not in it I never allow that. A man who has make up his mind for sin will do it whether he stays with a prophet,  in the church 24/7 or in the city.

Prayer Point: Lord, deliver me from temptation and keep me free from sin.

Bible Beating: Ezekiel 21: I-32

And I will pour out mine indignation upon thee, I will blow against thee in the fire of my wrath………. Ezekiel 21:31

Judgment will come whether you know it or not. Ezekiel’s sighing was to warn the people of the fearfulness of God’s coming judgment. For the fact that you have not be to Mediterranean Sea does it mean it does not exit? The Lord was about to cut off Jerusalem and the whole land, that all might know it was his decree against a wicked and rebellious people. This shows the awful wrath of God against sinners. God’s day of Judgment is coming God will turn the wicked to hell. Who are the wicked?  Those who know the will of God and fail to do it are the wicked. They will be in hell that burns with fire. I was told the story of hell fire when I was in grade 4 and I told everyone I will not go to hell fire, later I gave my life to Christ. The story of eternal hell fire I heard as a child created fear in my heart that led me to Christ. Today, if you talk about hell to kids, their mothers will say their mind is too young for such word. If you are not born again, you will be lost in hell.

Assignment: Examine your life and see if you are in faith.

Bible Reading: Ezekiel 22:1-32

And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. Ezekiel 22:30

When people should be concern with how to serve God in holiness and giving their money in winning souls they are busy making dishonest profit in business and from politics. The church had failed to show the people the difference between the clean and the unclean. The political leaders used their office not only to shed blood but to get rich. Money gotten in dishonest way will only lead to destruction. The right thing is to invest in things of the Kingdom. Praying for the salvation of sinners and witnessing to them is a noble job. God is not looking for new methods, God is always looking for someone to stand in the gap. One person can make a difference.  We see oppression

and exploitation of the poor in our city. This is a call for us to stand in the gap, just as Jesus stood in the gap for the world. Let us be concern with the things of God than our personal stuff. Can God depend on you for His service of saving the lost?

Prayer point: Pray for God to give you the burden to give for His work and win souls to Him.

Bible Reading: Ezekiel 23: 1-49

Therefore thus saith the Lord God ; Because thou hast forgotten me, and cast me behind thy back, therefore bear thou also thy lewdness and thy whoredoms. Ezekiel 23:35

God hates all kind of immorality. This includes immoral act between singles and married people. Many backsliders will tell us that we are imposing law on people or giving them restriction. Immorality include wearing inappropriate dressing, any form of

fumble with manhood or lady’s parts. Let see how Wikipedia explain indecent and promiscuity: Indecent exposure is the deliberate exposure in public or in view of the general public by a person of a portion or portions of their body in circumstances where the exposure is contrary to local moral or other standards of appropriate behavior. On the other hand Promiscuity is the practice of having” immorality” frequently with different partners or being indiscriminate in the choice of immoral partners. Those who want to live a free life and don’t want to be controlled are living like the devil. They see nothing wrong with their life style. God expects them to repent.

Pray Point: Pray that God will keep you from falling in’ temptation that will destroy you.

Bible Reading: Ezekiel 24 it-27

Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke: yet neither shalt thou mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down. Ezekiel 24:16

Death is not what anyone should talk about. We hate it, because is a big lose no matter the age of the deceased. Ezekiel was told about the death of his wife. Prophet Ezekiel preached in the morning and in the evening his wife died. Ezekiel did not announce it that God told him it will happen. Many people would say if Ezekiel is a man of God indeed, a true prophet, why did his wife die? Why did God not deliver and heel his wife? Such insinuations will come from many who should be a comfort to him. Nothing happens by mistake. Everyone has a purpose for living when John the Baptist finished his assignment God allowed him to be killed. A man can finish his assignment at the year he or she finished his university or the year he or she married. God will call him or her home. We cannot question God. All we need to do as believers is to ask for the grace to long life. Longevity is in His hand. He cannot change it except He gives us extra years through His mercy.

Prayer Point: Lord, have mercy and Give me grace for long life.

Test: Hebrew 11:23-26

Memory verse: Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season Hebrew 11:25

PRESTIGE REJECTED BY FAITH: Heb 11:24, Ex 2:10, Acts 7:21-23

There are some bold decisions that can only be taken in faith by those who see the great spiritual heights that God is calling them to. To reject such privilege and prestige as Moses rejected demands real faith in God. Carnal reasoning could have said, why not accept to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter and use the position to reform Egypt? Why not use this royal privilege to lessen the oppression of the Hebrews? Why not accept the prestige of being called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter so as to escape much affliction and suffering? Only bold faith in God can make us reject Satan’s scholarship to greatness.

A man known by his choice: by his decision. You cannot know a man fully until you know what he accepts or reject by faith and his conviction in God. Our spiritual life, faith, maturity can be measured by our daily decision. Faith views eternity to come and rejects the privileges and prestige of this passing world that will soon fade away.

Moses knew that God preserved him to deliver Israel from Egypt. To remain in Egypt‘s palace when God wanted  him to lead Israel out of Egypt will be unbelief and disobedience to God. Some people find it difficult to make the sacrifices that Christ requires, because they have no faith. Believe as Moses believed, and you will find it easy to decide and choose as Moses did.

PLEASURE REFUSED BY FAITH: Heb 11:25,26, Acts 7:23,24; Rom 16:3,4

There is faith that conquers the flesh, faith that conquers the world. The decision to refuse the pleasure of the flesh in Egypt, relinquish a high position in the palace ,renounce power in the greatest empire at that time, resist the pride of life and reject prosperity that could have made him blind  to God’s  call upon his life, that decision was a decision of faith.

Living faith in God makes us to forsake all the things the world holds dear. Moses weighed what Egypt had to offer against what God offered. He considered God’s offer in the light of eternity and saw that it was infinitely superior in every way.

There is both a negative and a positive side of the decision of faith of Moses. First, a ‘refusing”, then a ‘choosing”, and that order is unchanging. It is our refusal of the things of the world and our choosing the things of the Lord which identifies us as true children of God. And this is all by faith. Living by faith, we faithfully keep the things of eternal value in view.

We are journeying into the place which the Lord said, I will give it you: Come thou with us, and w will do thee good, For the Lord had spoken good concerning Israel. Numbers 10:29

Our God is a Good God.  His thought toward us are also good. No evil thoughts in Him.  Even to His enemies.   That is those that dwell in sin, His thoughts towards them is good that they may repent and be saved from sin.  For the thought that I think toward you are of good and not of evil, any other thought contrary to that one either from your mind or from people around you is not of god Moses was encouraging his father in-law to come with them into the promised land because he was confident of what god said concerning them. The Lord has spoken good concerning them. Some Christians don’t have an idea of what god said concerning them.  The reason Moses was not discouraged in the wilderness was because of what God had spoken concerning them. What keeps you in your trying moment is revelation you have from the word of God.

What has God spoken concerning you?

Bible Reading Ezekiel 25.-I-17

Behold, therefore I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and will deliver thee for a spoil to the heathen; and I will cut thee off from the people…..Ezekiel 25:7

Does God judge believers today as He judged Israel His own Covenant people? Yes. God will not send financial hindrance, sickness or death to His children but He will allow the Pharaoh, Nebuchadnezzar and evil demons to attach you. Does He have the power to deliver you? Yes, but He will not. You wonder why some believers pray and fast so long on an issue without result. Great men of God had prayed without answers. When God want something to be, we cannot influence Him to change His mind. It is the individual relationship with God alone that can change the scenario if you can detect the cause and meet a prophet that God will use to bring you out of your Egypt. God judged Israel, punished them for their disobedience. All the Nations, peoples and communities that forsaken the Lord will be judged one day. It pays to live above trouble and sin.

Prayer Point: Pray for your family that none of them will perish with the world.

Bible Reading Ezekiel 26: I

I will make thee a terror, and thou shalt be no more: though thou be sought for, yet shalt thou never be found again, saith the Lord God. Ezekiel 26:21

Many young youth do not know how powerful God is. They take God for granted. They feel God will not judge and punishment them for their misdeed. Is sin pleasure? No. They drink and mess up themselves. They wear nude dress and go to party. Why do they do these? Will that pay their bills? No.   When God tells us to desist from all these stuff is for you good. My only two brothers from my mother died because of the use of smoking and drinking. When you preach against worldly dressing and hanging out with friends that are unbelievers they assume it’s been hard on them and giving them two many restrictions but this is the word of God. We see people today regretting because something bad has happened because of their misbehavior not that they want to repent but regretting about the consequence of their deed. Whether we believe it or not we reap whatever we sow.

Prayer Point: Lord help me and my family so we will not fall into the terribleness d- an angry God.

Bible Reading Ezekiel 27: I-

Thy borders are in the midst of the seas, thy builders have perfected thy beauty. Ezekiel 27:4

Ezekiel prophecy how Tyre will sink and never be remembered again as a nation. This is not the only nation God judged and punished for disobedience. God overthrew Babylon. Today that world power nation does not exist anymore. Why did God want to destroy Tyreso it would never exist anymore? Tyre is known for beauty, glamour, fashion, wealth and knowledge. Their beauticians are referred as the builders who  perfected their beauty, this is’ the modern day beauty artist. They dress as professional models for public show.  In our world today we see people who fear God and preach righteousness but as soon as when they start getting money they start misbehaving. The want to feel belong and start doing what make God destroy that nation. They start wearing Babylon and Tyregarments that portray sodomy, attire of a Harlot. They will have clothes for God and clothes for worship Satan at night party. The dance for Satan on Friday night and dance for God on Sunday morning.

Prayer: Use 5 minutes to pray for this generation to know God.

Bible Reading Ezekiel 28: I-26

Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness……. Ezekiel 28:17

This prophecy is to the devil who is behind the worldliness of the city of Tyre. Satan is the strongman. He controlled the activities of the people in the city in their dressing, demonstrating pride and wealth. They feel they are god. No one can mess with them. They cannot take correction any more. The word of God means nothing to them. Tyre was describe as how Satan was so beautiful until his beauty entered his head and wanted to overthrown God until God cast him down with all the angels that rebelled with him. The strongman of Tyre, the devil, was the leader of the choir and used the power of music to deceive the world after his fall. Many people have been held captive with music of the world. Demon has introduced worldly music and dances that make the world craze and provoke God. There are people who sing in the choir but their heart is far from the Lord.  As God overthrew Satan and Tyre so God will cost people into shame and condemnation if they continue in such absurd act.

Prayer Point: Spend 5 minute, to pray for your love ones and salvation of your family.

Text: Hebrew 11: 4-7

Memory Verse: By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous Hebrew 11:4

COMMENCEMENT OF LIFE OF FAITH: Heb 11:4, Gen 4:4, Rom 3:24-26

By faith God’s action and revelation (Gen 3:21) He had revealed that in order for a sinner to stand before the holy God, he needed a covering and God Himself must provide the acceptable covering. The necessary covering could only be obtained by the death of an innocent victim. This innocent victim was the substitute for the guilty sinner. Abel brought his sacrifice by faith, believing that God was merciful and would accept the death of an innocent substitute in his place. This is where the life of faith begins.

Christ. The Lamb of God has died in our place. He is the innocent victim – the innocent Substitute who died in our [place. Now, faith stretches forth its hand and lays hold on the Redeemer. The sinner is pardoned and accepted by God, then he obtains witness that he is righteous. Whosoever God accepts, He counts to be righteous. All who are justified and accepted by God( because of faith in our perfect Substitute and Saviour) also receive divine assurance in their hearts that they are forgiven, righteous and justified.

CHARACTERISTIC OF THE LIFE OF FAITH: Heb 11:5,6; Gen 5:22-24, 1 Cor 15:51,52

The example of Abel shows us where the life of faith begins. The example of Enoch teaches us of what the life of faith consists – its characteristic. “And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him(Gen 5:24) ‘Can two walk together except they be agreed?” the term “walk” signifies a voluntary act, a steady advance, a life surrendered to God, a life controlled by God, a life lived for God.

He who walks with God, walking by faith, pleases God. To walk with God, as Enoch did ,is to “walk In newness of life”(Rom 6:4). “henceforth not walk as other Gentiles walk” (Eph 4:17), to “ walk uprightly, righteously, humbly, and honestly.

All true believers living their lives consistently to please Him in all things will soon betranslated to heaven.

The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is simple thy whole body also is full of light, but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness Luke 11:34

One of the secrets of every great achievement in this life is the singleness of your eye. Great power is always generated when you concentrate your energy in pursuing a common objective. It is instructive to note that the eye whether physical or that of the mind is the driving forces of the whole body. You can never be good at what you don’t give attention to. It is what you feed your eyes with that control your body.  The bible says “If thine eye be single then the whole body shall be full of light.” A lot of people want to do everything but at the end of the day, they end up doing nothing.  Never make God an option to choose from.  A double minded man is unstable in all his ways and let not that man think that he  will receive anything from the Lord.  That is why the bible says you will seek me and find me when you seek me with the whole of your heart.

1. What are the benefits of staying focused?

2. How do you stay focused?

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 33:1-26

And I will cleanse them from all their inequities, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me. Jere 33:8

When sinners are washed and sanctified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Holy Spirit, they are enabled to walk before God in peace and purity. Many are yet to perceive the real difference between the people of God and the world around them, and to fear the Divine wrath. It is promised that the people who were long in sorrow, shall again be filled with joy. Where the Lord gives righteousness and peace, he will give all needful supplies for temporal wants; and all we have will be comforts, as sanctified by the word and by prayer.  The people who thought God had cast off Judah and Israel couldn’t have been more mistaken. The Lord replied that His covenant with His people is as fixed as the laws of nature. God will surely give you back all that the enemies had stolen from you if you remain faithful. Delay of your miracle is not denial, one day you will sing a new song.

Prayer point: Any power of Satan standing as a hindrance, let it catch fire in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 34: -22

Now when all the princes, and all the people, which had entered into the covenant, heard that everyone should let his manservant, and everyone his maidservant, go free, that none should serve themselves of them anymore, then they obeyed, and let them go. Jeremiah 34:10

When God brought Israel out of the land of Egypt He made a covenant with them that if they had slaves, they must let the slaves go free in the seventh year. Disobedient to this will attract a curse and afflictions from God.  No witch or wizard who had enslaved you  has any right to afflict you for more than six years. If he does, God will be the one to fight him or her. This is a unversed law of freedom. In the days of Jeremiah, he told Israel to release the slaves if they refused He will fight them with sword, plague, famine and horror (Jer 34: 17). Imagine this, if God will fight His children for holding other captive in their mind through oppression, and slavery how much more will God fight those who held you bound through evil imaginations and demonic curses. Plead your case before the Chief Judge and reclaim your freedom in Jesus name.

Prayer Point: Let God’s fire locate those who have put me in bondage so I can be free.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 35.1-18

Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechabshall not want a man to stand before me forever. Jeremiah 35:19

Jeremiah was sent to the family of the Rechabite to offer them a drink of wine. They refused and told Jeremiah, “we do not drink win, for Jonadab, ancestor Rechab, commanded’- ‘You and your descendants must never drink wine’. They said “we haven’t drunk wine our whole life we, our wives, our sons and our daughters. When they refused to drink wine despite the pressure on them to drink they still obeyed their father’s instruction not to drink and never to live in a built houses but in tents. God blessed and made a perpetual covenant of service forever with them because they obeyed the instruction of their father.   Your father or Pastor may sound foolish because of the invention and fashion age or you may feel you know more than him thereby disobeying him, you are robbing yourself of your future fortune. obeying your parents or pastor no matter how foolish you think they are, always bring God’s blessings. The key to Kingdom blessing is obedience.

Confession: I declare to walk in obedience from today in Jesus name

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 36: 1-32

Take thee again another roll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first roll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah hath burned. Jeremiah 36:28

Baruch was Jeremiah’s secretary. He wrote his prophecies as the Lord speaks to him. When his prophecy was read before the people, they expected the people to repent and God will forgive them and heal the land. Instead, they told Jeremiah and Baruch to hide themselves. They sent  the scroll to the king Jehoiakim with the hope it will bring national repentance. But when the King read about four columns he cut the scroll and burnt it despite people advising him not to burn the scroll but he did not listen. Although God told Jeremiah to write another scroll. The question we need to ask is,why are some people offended when they hear some messages that should bring repentance. Prophets had been attacked because of the kind of preaching that should lead to repentance but rather had turned to  offense. Such people are hardened hearted and not willing to accept the truth.

Prayer Request: Lord, help me be willing to accept rebuke and correction with love in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 37: 1-21

But neither he, nor his servants, nor the people of the land, did hearken unto the words of the Lord, which he spake by the prophet Jeremiah. Jeremiah 37:2

When some believers don’t  hear what they expect to hear they become bitter. Jeremiah was put into prison because his preaching was not what they expected to hear. It is not a strange thing today. A backslider in heart is filled with his own way. They get agitated when they see people they don’t like. Jeremiah told the king that Babylon will capture Israel and they will go into captivity. What did you expect? off course, repentance. Jonah gave a message of doom to Nineveh, they all repented, but at this time, instead of repenting they were angry with Jeremiah’s preaching. God want us to stand for the truth even if what you heard is not suitable to your mindset. God honor and blesses a broken and contrite heart. When you obey God’s word and seek His will, He will reward and bless you.

Prayer Point: Lord, protect our pastors from attack because of what they preach. Baptize me with the spirit of obedience and willingness to follow you in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 38: 1-28

My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they had done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they casted into the dungeon; and he is likely to die of hunger in the place where he is: for there is no more bread in the city. Jeremiah 38:9

God still send angels to people today. Some people may think you are slow, but they don’t know that slow and steady is better than being fast and end up in shame. When you are convinced that the angels are in control, you will not be in hurry to take action on what people say about you. Their gossip does not matter until they take you for granted and then see how discipline you are. God has been patient with Israel, carrying them on eagle’s wings and they took it for granted until He told them in Jeremiah 38:3 That “This city will most certainly be handed over to the king of Babylon’s army, and he will capture it” As a result Jeremiah was thrown into a cistern filled with mud but God used Ebed-meleck, the human angel to speak to the king and Jeremiah was removed from the pit. Let us value people.  They may be our Saviour someday.

Prayer Point: Lord, give me the spirit of patience and understanding heart to discern good and bad.

Text: Hebrew 11: 8-12

Memory Verse: Walk in the steps of that of our father Abraham, which he had, being yet uncircumcised” Romans 4:12

THE PILGRIMAGE OF FAITH: Heb 11:8, Gen 12:1-4, Luke 5:32

“By faith Abraham when he was called to go out… obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went”(Heb 11:8). “The Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee(Gen 12:1). What a challenge of his faith this was! He was called to go out of idolatry, not out of the family of God. What a testing of faith was this! To be converted at 75! Abraham was already seventy-five years of age and long journeys and break-up of old associations are not easily undertaken by elderly people. To forsake the old life, to leave loved ones and family idolatry behind, to abandon the present certainty for a future of uncertainty, to go forth, not knowing where, must have seemed unreasonable to the flesh and carnal reasoning; only faith could do such a thing in answer to God’s call.

A practical separation from the world is demanded of us, for “the friendship of the world is enmity with God”(James 4:4). As it was contrary to nature for Abraham to leave family and idolatry, so it is equally contrary to nature for the Christian to separate from the world. Many so-called Christians only obey God after considering their own personal interests.

THE PROOF AND PATIENCE OF FAITH: Heb 11:9,10; Gen 13: 12-18, John 14:2

“By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country(Heb11:9). The verse brings before us the proof of Abraham’s faith. In the previous verse we are told of the place he left, here we are told of the place to which he was called. We learn from him the necessity of patience and constancy of faith in waiting for the fulfillment of the promise. As it was by faith that Abraham went out of Chaldea, so it was by faith he remained out of his native idolatrous country. We come out of the world to come into Christ’s kingdom by faith and remain separated from the world through faith.

Unless a supernatural work of grace had been wrought in Abraham’s heart, subduing his natural reasoning, he would not have remained in Canaan. He stayed there, “as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles”, patiently waiting for the inheritance. The Christian also has been “begotten to an inheritance”, but he does not fully enter into it  the moment he is called “from death unto life”. He, too waits patiently for that “inheritance reserved in him

Follow peace with all men, and holiness without which no man shall see the Lord Hebrew 12:14

There are certain consciousnesses we must imbibe upon ourselves if we really want to make heaven.  Never allow yourself to sleep with guilt.  That is sin not confessed.  It can cost you eternity. It is expensive to wait till tomorrow before you confess your sins.  Live a sin free life. Live a guilt free life because no one who live in guilt can make heaven. If your conscience condemns you, God is greater than your conscience.  Secondly, make your ways right with man Acts 24:16 “And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God and toward man” James 5:16 “Confess your faith one for another…” Living in peace is a must for every child of God “Blessed are the peace makers: For they shall be called the children of God.  Lastly, be conscious of heaven.  Understand that we are not going to be here forever.  Regardless of the anointing of God on the life of a man, there is a time limit for every life on earth.  Check yourself before taking action.

How can a Christian prepare himself for

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 39: 1-18

But I will deliver thee in that day, saith the Lord: and thou shalt not be given into the hand of the men of whom thou art afraid.

Jeremiah 39:17

King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon conquered Israel in a swift way, without resistance according to the prophecy of Jeremiah. King Zedekiah of Judah was captured. He slaughtered his children before his eyes and later blinded him. King Nebuchadnezzar gave order for care and protection of Prophet Jeremiah. Because of the role Ebed-melech the Cushite did to rescue Jeremiah from the pit filled with mud before he should die, God then promised him that He will rescue him and deliver him from death as a result of the captivity and war. We have seen how when you defend, protect and support men of God, His reward is bound to come. No matter how close and familiar you are to a man of God,don’t take it for granted. Value them. Because Ebed-melechhelped and rescued Jeremiah God told him “you will not be handed over to the men you dread”. You duty is to do all you can to your pastors and  God will reward you Himself in due season.

Confession: Lord, open my eyes to know how I may serve faithfully.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 40:1-16

Then went Jeremiah unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and dwelt with him among the people that were left in the land. Jeremiah 40:6

Everyone wants to go to heaven, but no one wants to die. Death is painful to both the young and old. Those who commit suicide have wrong mindset.  Those who are suffering in sickness and pains, wish to die not because they really want it but they feel it is a better way to end it. No one wants to go into captivity either. Jeremiah, a senior Prophet found himself in such shoe. He has been prophesying that God wants them to go into captivity in Babylon. He said God will punish them if they refused. It is easy to say, but its difficult to obey. When the captain of the guards of Babylon come to sweep the land and carry more captives, he told Jeremiah that he should come with him to Babylon where he could be well taken care of, he refused. As at this time the Prophet was confused and probably forgot all God has told him about their going to Babylon.  Probably he was afraid of death in captivity. This is the reason we should all pray for Prophets.

2 minutes to pray for all the pastors you know.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 41: 1-8

Then arose Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and the ten men that were with him, and smote Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan with the sword, and slew him, whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land. Jeremiah 41:2

Sometimes when you talk with some people they will shut you down. Gedaliah was appointed by the King of Babylon to take care of the remaining people in Judah and Jeremiah was one of them. In every rumour there is a sense. Not everything people say about you,  you will wave away. You may be missing some important information. In every lie or rumor there may be a truth. In Jeremiah 40:16 Gedaliah was told that Ishmael will come to kill him but he said it is a lie. In Jeremiah 41:2 It was recorded that Ishmael visited Gedaliah and they ate together as friends after the meal Ishmael killed him and ten others with him. If he had listened to the rumor he would have protected himself instead he was eating with his enemy. Do not stop people from telling you what they heard about you.  Change all criticism to a constructive one.

Prayer Point: Lord give me listening ear so I can understand what you want to pass to me in all I hear or what they say about me.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 42: 1-22

That the Lord thy God may shew us the way wherein we may walk, and the thing that we may do. Jeremiah 42:3

One of the most important thing in Christian lives is getting the right counsel from the men of God. Call your Pastor or his staff to book an appointment to see him, talk with him as a father and friend. He may need time to pray and hear from God,  wait patiently and contact him later. Don’t take it as an offense if you made attempt couple of times and could not see him. Be patient, one day you will see him. To avoid your pastor in times of prayer and counseling is a foolish decision. In Jeremiah 42:2,3 the people met Jeremiah for directions and counsel and they promised to obey whatever Jeremiah told them whether good or bad. When he told them the word of the Lord, they rebelled and did not want to obey despite the dangers of disobedience. They knew what they wanted to do but still went for counsel, that is not good, make up your mind to obey godly counsel from your pastor.

Prayer Point: Pray that God will deliver you from the spirit of fear on why you find it difficult to talk with your pastor.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 43:1-13

Then spake Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying unto Jeremiah, Thou speakest falsely: the Lord our God hath not sent thee to say, Go not into Egypt to sojourn there: Jeremiah 43:2

We have heard so much “on believe the prophet and you shall prosper” that it does not make any sense anymore. Can you imagine that arrogant men could tell Jeremiah to his face that he was telling a lie? Jeremiah said Babylon will come to carry them away, they did not believe. Now the remnant want to know if they should go to Egypt or not? Jeremiah said they should not go, that if they go they will be killed there, yet they said Jeremiah counsel was a lie. Today, we see worst things. If a prophet said give or sow a seed, some will say, should he be collecting money always? and will disobey and unwilling to give. At other times, the men of God preaches, they will say, “someone must have told the man of God something that is why he is saying these things.” God’s word in his mouth will still come to pass soon or later. So do not be afraid.

Prayer Point: Pray for your pastors.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 44:1-30

Howbeit I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate. Jeremiah 44:4

The Lord hates disobedience. This is the mother of all evil acts. God kept sending prophets to Israel time and time again but they will disobey the word of the prophet. In Jeremiah 44: 8 God said you are angering me by the work of your hands. As a result of such disobedience God told them He will cut them off and make them an example for cursing and insult among all nations God said He will set His face against them for disaster, sword, famine and plague, yet they did not listen. We have done worst than that. We see believers going to spiritual churches with holy candle, oil and strange things they were told to buy. Some use charms, native doctor amulets, telesman, magical books and still have family idol property in their home but still come to church. They steal and spoil people with evil rumour and gossip. These are the reason why God has set His face against His own children. Obedience brings blessing.

Prayer point: spend 5 minutes to pray that God will deliver you from the spirit of disobedience.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 45:1- 5

And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the Lord : but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest. Jeremiah 45:5

God always get offended with believers who run after their own things not minding the house of God and His work. We no more bother for soul winning anymore, all we think is how to get money, marry, have cars, property, children and fine dresses. We want to show to our families and friends we are successful. God says we should stop pursuing great things for ourselves. He said if we did not stop He will bring disaster. The only thing is to repent and seek the things of God first. Give your tithes and support God’s work financially and be committed in the house of God then God will turn our captivities and bless us. It’s sounds foolish for me to leave all the pleasures of Canada, leave my beautiful house as a landlord, cars and wonderful enjoyment to return to Kaduna, Nigeria as a Canadian citizen to preach the word of God in a city infested with Boko Haram, Fulani Herdsmen, kidnapping, light failure, bad roads, dust and mosquitos. Stop pursuing.

Pray point: Pray for the spirit of humility.

Text: Hebrew 11: 17-19

Memory Verse: By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac; and he that had received the promises offered up his begotten son.  Hebrew 11:17

ABRAHAM’S GREAT FAITH: Heb 11:17, Gen 21:10-12, James 2:21-23

Among all the expressions of Abraham’s faith nothing was more remarkable than the offering up of his son, Isaac. It is the most wonderful submission in faith, the most illustrious of all examples of faith. It shows the power of faith that helps a man to perform a very difficult duty so as to obtain a very important blessing

What a great faith! The depth and great value of Abraham’s faith are revealed in his willingness to give back to God everything he had received by faith, including the son of promise. God’s demand was a test of Abraham’s faith. It was a test of his submission to God, his loyalty to God, his love and affections for God.

God’s promises to Abraham concerning his “seed”  centered in Isaac. Ishmael had been cast out and Isaac’s posterity alone was to be reckoned to Abraham. Isaac had been given to Abraham after he had waited for a long time. There was no likelihood of his having any more sons through Sarah. To offer him up to God looked like cutting off all his hopes, yet he was willing to obey God – that was a great faith.

THE TEST OF FAITH: Heb 11:17,18; Gen 22:1-4, John  6:5,6

This was a test, a great test. God had declared unto Abraham that He would establish an Everlasting covenant with Isaac and with his seed after him. It was through him that all nations should be blessed and therefore it must be through him that Christ, according to the flesh, would proceed. Now the accomplishment of those promises depended upon the preservation of Isaac’s life. Abraham was called upon to sacrifice unto God. Abraham was to slay, not all his bullocks and herds, not one of his servants, not even Ishmael, but his loving, beloved, faithful son!

Abraham was bidden, not to send him away from home but to cut him off out of the land of the living! To obey God and sacrifice Isaac appeared to render all His promises to Abraham null and void, making their fulfillment impossible. A severe trial,  a serious trial of faith.

He consulted not with flesh and blood, not even with Sarah. There was no delay or disputing with God, questioning the apparent discrepancy between the present command and the previous promises. Great faith  in a great God  passed a great test and obtained great blessings.

He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions Psalm 107:20

The word of God is not a book that people carry about. The word of God is a person.  The word is a living personality.  The words that I speak unto you they are spirit and they are life John 6:63. Whenever God is  sending a word to a person, what it means is that he is sending his spirit to perform an operation in the life of a  man.  The word of God is the womb that carries every form of miracle. If you can lay hold of the word then your miracle can be assured.  But when people are empty, they also become empty of God’s miracle.  Always look for a word that addresses the situation that’s where the miracle is.  It is important to note that the world started with the word of God.  In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God” The biggest instrument of God’s operation is the word of God. God can function without a man of God but he can’t function without the word.  I pray from today the word of God will become active in your life.

Mention three (3) benefits of the word of God to a Christian.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 46: 1-28

Fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith the Lord : for I am with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee: but I will not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not leave thee wholly unpunished. Jeremiah 46: 28

God has always spoken to His children not to go to Egypt nor trust in the arms of Egypt. We should abhor getting into relationship with unbelievers. Take for instance, you going to a neighbour’s home whom everyone knows he killed your mother or brothers,  to eat, drink, enter his car, take you out and gives you money, will your father be happy with you? so is your heavenly father. God said “go away from Them” The good news is that when we have done foolish things in disobeying the Lord and we  repented with all our heart He will forgive us. If the restoration came too late, you will miss those blessings He promised you but at death you will make heaven. God do banish, punish, judge and discipline His child who disobeys. It is better to wait on the Lord until He answers, instead of disobeying.

Prayer Request: Lord, help me to examine myself so I can get ready to be blessed.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 47:1-7

Thou shall arise and have mercy on Zion, for the time to favour her, yes, the set time is come. Psalm 102:13

The Lord is mindful of His saints daily.  He said, a nursing mother might forget her sucking child, but He will not forget the cry and welfare of His children. He has graven you upon the palms of his hands.  The Lord is aware of your travail, He knows their dwelling places, even where Satan lives.  The days of your mourning are over.   Your sorrow is turned to celebration.  Your enemies that had limited your days are gone down the drain, they are subdued forever. Your barrenness is turned into fruitfulness, and your disgrace to grace.  If you can trust in the Lord, and be faithful, in all your ways, he shall forever be your defence, your shield and your great provider.  No good shall He withhold from you. Your hour of manifestation has come.  Celebrate the Lord your God, praise and worship his majesty, testify of his wonderful works in your life.  For the Lord has opened the flood gates of heaven for you.  I see angels ascending and descending for you, for the Lord thy God has remembered to do you good. You are rooted upon mount Zion that cannot be moved.  You are highly favoured.  It is your time.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 48:1-47

Curse be he that doeth the work of the Lord deceitfully.  Jeremiah 48:10A

Deceit is pretending to be what you are not, or making people believe what is not true.  There are many people in the church so called Christians in all sections of the church who appear and act as saints, but are far from being saved.  They are still living in the lustful desires of the flesh.  Their secret lives are not anything better than the unbelievers. Some have gods in their houses, in their offices which they bow to every day.  These are people in the church who are ocultic.  In the day, they come to the house of God pretending to be children of light.  In the night, they appear before the kingdom of darkness romancing with the devil.  Who is your God?  You cannot serve God and the gods.  For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good or  evil. This world is a temporal abode.  We all shall pass away.  But the big question is, where are we going from here?  Hell or Heaven? No one can work for your salvation but you. The choice is entirely yours.

Prayer Point: Heavenly Father, lead me in the path of righteousness.

Bible Reading:  Jeremiah 49:1-39

Leave thy fatherless children, I will preserve them alive, and thy widows trust in me.  Jeremiah 49:1-39

The journey of life with the hopes and aspirations thereof is not terminated because of the demise of the father of a child or husband of a woman.  There is a father for the fatherless and a husband for the widow.  His name is Jesus.  The scripture says “A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation (Ps 68:5).  He cares for them, he preserves them alive and provides adequately for their needs.  He is their defense and judge.  Fighting the fatherless child or a widow, is fighting against God.  Hear what the Lord is saying “Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.  If you afflict them in any wise and they cry out unto me, I will surely hear their cry and my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.  But hear this, for God to take over your case and really father you as a child or take  the place of your husband for a widow,  you must live a clean life.

Prayer Point: I receive grace to care for the orphans and the widows in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 50:1-46

All that found them have devoured them and their adversaries said, we offend not, because they have sinned against the Lord, the habitation of justice, even the Lord, the hope of their fathers.  Jeremiah 50:7

Sin is the only thing that separates man from God’s presence.  Sin attracts judgment and condemnation, and these in turn usher in deprivation and lose of blessing and every promise of God including the promise of salvation.  When sin takes believers away from the presence of God, when he walks out of the shadow of the Almighty, when he is no longer in the place of living security, the enemy has right and authority to devour him.  Let no man be in doubt, devil has right over the sinner. When you leave the habitation of justice and everlasting hope you appear before the habitation of cruelty, destruction and death. Devil is the father of sin and the sinner, as God is the Father of righteousness and the righteous.  When you live in sin, you belong to the devil and God can do nothing about your situation until you turn to Him and forsake sin.  The wages of sin is death.

Prayer Point: I pray in the name of Jesus that sin will never have dominion over me.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 51:1-64

Thou are my battle ax and weapon of war, for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy the kingdom. Jeremiah 51:20

We are the Lord’s battle axe and weapons of war on earth.  The Lord is a man of War, and every true child of God is recruited into the kingdom’s army to fight for the kingdom.  Thou therefore endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.  Life is war, life is battle and the earth is battle field.  There is no success, no victory, no crown on earth without battle.  Salvation was won through battle.  The journey to heaven is through battle.  Every believer is saved to conquer the world for God through relentless battles. You are delivered to deliver.  You are loved to love.  Jesus sacrificed His life to save you that you might sacrifice your life for others.  Jesus said to the Father “As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.  And the glory which you gave me, I have given them that they may be one as we are one (Jn 17:18,22).  Arise, go to the battle field and do the kingdom assignment.

Confession: I am the Lord’s battle Axe, the enemy cannot prevail over me.

Text: Hebrew 11: 17-19

Memory Verse: By faith Abraham, when he was tried offered up Isaac; and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son Hebrew 11:17

THE TESTIMONY OF FAITH: Heb 11:19a, Gen 22:5-8, Rom 4:20,21

It is faith that causes us to yield to God, to respond to His claims, to answer His call, to obey Him joyfully. Faith carries its possessor through the greatest of trials, singing and testifying of God’s goodness and greatness while going through. There is a cheerful submission and joyful obedience to the will of God when we really and fully believe Him. Faith has a mighty influence to support and sustain the soul in time of trial. He who walks by faith, in the light of God’s eternal Word, goes on calmly and happily through the mists and fogs of time.

What a testimony Abraham had in the midst of his trial of faith. He believed and testified that after the sacrifice, God would raise Isaac up and they will both “come again”. What a faith, what a testimony! He was so “strong in faith” that he believed God would raise him from the dead “Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead(Heb 11:19)

THE TRIUMPH OF FAITH: Heb 11:19b, 2 Cor 2:14, Mark 14:27,28

Abraham received what he believed; he obtained what he confessed.”And Abraham said, my son, God will provide Himself a lamb for a burnt offering”(Gen 22:8 ). The outcome of the whole test of faith was a wonderful triumph of faith. No regrets, no disappointment. There was divine intervention in the nick of time – promptly. Trusting firmly in the Lord brought God’s all – sufficient power to act on his behalf.

He got his beloved Isaac back again. God returns again to us what we offer to Him. Hannah gave up Samuel to the Lord, and she had many more children in return(1 Sam 2:20,21). Abraham also obtained a fuller revelation of God’s name:

he now knew Him as “ Jehovah-Jireh”(Gen 22:14). And God confirmed His covenant with him again.

The quickest road to triumph and full assurance is complete obedience and total trust in God.

It repented me that I have set up Saul to be King: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments 1 Samuel 15:11

Saul became a King over Israel by divine providence not by merit. He became a King over Israel when he least expected. God brought him into honour and fame and affluence without any labour and without any human contribution. He became so great in Israel that he began to misbehave. One of the true tests of humility is when you are tested with power and authority.  Saul became power drunk that he took the word and instructions of God with levity.  To him he obeyed God but before God,  partialobedience is not obedience at all.  He did not carry out God’s instructions as instructed by God. He did not kill all the animals.  That singular act cost him his throne.  Every act of disobedience to God takes away something from you.  Disobedience hinders the manifestation of God’s blessings.

1. Why was Saul rejected as King over Israel?

2. What are the rewards of disobedience?

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 52:1-34

And changed his prison garment, and he did continually eat bread before him all the days  of his life. Jeremiah 52:33

There are problems in life that one need to go through in order to get to the height of his calling.  Life without problems leads to no where.  Every destiny and every covenant or promise of God has its peculiar problem to face.  Not every affliction of life is from the devil.  God permits certain things in life to let you appreciate His purpose and glory.  Before the palace, there is always a prison, before the high way, there is a foot path.  The prison is a reformatory centre for the palace assignment.  Where there is a crown, there is a cry.  From Portipha’s house, Joseph went to prison and from prison to the palace.  Hear what the scripture says of him, “Until the time that his word came, the word of the Lord tried him”.  The king sent and loosed him, even the rulers of the people, and let him go free.  He made him Lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance (Ps 105:19-21)” The affliction you are going through is not meant to destroy you, but prepare you for your divine assignment.

Prayer Point:  Lord, lift me up forever n Jesus name.

Bible Reading:  Lamentation 1:1-22

From above has he sent fire into my bones, and it prevailed against them, he hath spread a net for my feet, he has turned me back, he hath made me desolate and faint all the day.  Lamentation 1:13

Does God take pleasure in the affliction and agony of his children?  If no, why does he afflict his children?  His love, mercy, grace and favour endureth forever.  The scripture says, “For the Lord God is a sun and shield, the Lord will give grace and glory, no good thing will he withhold from them that wait uprightly (Ps 84:11)” Iniquity is transgression against God’s commandment, it is wickedness before God.  And God is angry with the wicked everyday   Hear the word of the Lord, “will you steal, murder and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incence unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom you know not and come and stand before me in this house (the church) which is called by my name and say, we are delivered to do all these abominations?  The conclusion of the whole matter, fear God and keep his commandment for this is the whole duty of man.

Prayer Point: Heavenly Father, give me the grace to live above sin in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Lamentation: 2:1-22

The Lord hath done that which he had devised; he hath fulfilled his word that he had commanded in the days of old; he hath  thrown down; and hath not pitied; and he hath caused thine enemy to rejoice over thee, he hath set up the horn of thine adversaries. Lamentation 2:17

God does not turn away from man, nor forsake him except on account of disobedience and unrepentant sin.  God loves man so much that He sacrificed His only Begotten Son Jesus to redeem man from satanic bondage.  Whosoever you are, when you are living in disobedience to God’s commandments, His presence will depart from you.  Mercy, grace, favour and God’s blessings are fruits of obedience. God is not a respecter of man.  If we disobey the law, the constitution of man we get punished, how much more when you disobey and turn away from him who has the final say over your life.  You cannot be romancing with the devil and expect God to abide in you.  Darkness and light cannot work together.  If God must turn to you, you must turn away from sin and embrace Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour.

Prayer Point: Lord deliver me from the shackles of sin.

Bible Reading: Lamentation: 3:1-66

It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. Lamentation 3:1-66

Don’t think that when you are facing trials and temptation you are suffering as a result of your past sins or you are passing consequences from the wrongs you have done in the past.  Every genuine child of God must face trials and temptations.  Although temptations come from the devil, nevertheless our faith is strengthened by them.  Furthermore, temptations can come when we lust after evil things and become enticed.  We should not  greed after those things that doesn’t belong to us or those we cannot presently afford. God  is also supplying His grace so that we can find a way of escape. One sure way of overcoming trials and temptations is by constant reading and confessing the word of God (Matt 4:4) The word will preserve you from the evil sword; another spiritual weapon is faith and prayer.  Don’t feel you have arrived.  Let him that thinks he stands take heed lest he falls.  Live a heaven conscious life.  Watch your tongue and keep your heart pure.

Prayer Point: I break the power of sin in my life in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Lamentation: 4:1-22

Our persecutors are swifter than the eagles of the heaven; they pursued us upon the mountains, they laid wait for us in the wilderness. Lamentation 4:19

We are in the generation where evil is seen as good.  The rich oppress the poor.  The fatherless are denied of their rights and property.  Widows are subjected to so many untold hardships and ill treatments. Evil abound everywhere.   There are so many injustices going on in our system. As a young graduate, you are qualified for a job but denied the opportunity  because you refused to compromise, you refused to sell your body for that lucrative job.  Something that rightfully belongs to you has been forcefully taken away from you.  What do you do and who do you turn to when faced with situations like these? Turn to God.  God is the judge and He will silence every oppression of your life.  The scripture says in Psalms 12:5 “For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise saith the Lord, I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him”  God will arise and save you.

Prayer Point: My God will deliver me from the oppression of the wicked.

Bible Reading: Ezekiel 1: 1-28

And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; and they turned not when they went. Ezekiel 1:12

This was a vision given to Ezekiel when he was in captivity. It explain how we need not fail in times of adversity, the wheels are turning round and will raise us up in it’sseason. The wheel is near the living creature showing God has stationed His angels to minister to us His providence. The spirit of power, wisdom and holiness are in God signifying the living creatures in the wheel. The movement of the wheel is steady because the spirit directed. When the spirit directs your way your supply and providence are constant. God sees everything hence they full of eyes round about. All your events are directed by the eyes of God all we have to do is to follow the will of God as he moves us by the spirit. following His direction, as the wheel moves, is the ultimate for fulfilled destiny. Jeremiah I, 26-28 we see the appearance of Jesus in the throne of glory, grace, triumph, government and judgment. As Jesus demonstrates these five attributes He remembered by the appearance at the rainbow His covenant with man.

Prayer Point: Pray for God’s guidance, you will move according to the move of His spirit

TEXT: Hebrew 11: 13-16

Memory Verse:  We ought to give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard Hebrew 2:1s

THE CONSTANCY OF FAITH: Heb 11:13,14; Gen 49:28-31, John 8:56

“These all died in faith, not having received the promises…” Each one of the Old Testament characters died in the firm expectation of the promised Messiah, believing and beholding the heavenly glory afar off. Their eye of faith was strong, they were endowed with long-distant spiritual vision. With the telescope of faith, they saw them afar off, were fully persuaded and embraced them. Faith sees the invisible clearly, brings strong persuasion in the heart and makes us to embrace God’s promises.

“These all died in faith”. To die in faith is to have an assured confidence in God till and at the point of death. They had a firm belief in the reality and existence of life and fellowship with God after death. They entrusted their departing souls into the care of a loving and faithful God. They had strong faith believing in the final, blessed rest in the heavenly country, prepared for them by God. Their chief aim and supreme desire was to lay aside all hindrances, live like “strangers and pilgrims on the earth”, seeking those things which are above, setting their affection on things above, not on things on the earth(Col 3:1,2)

THE COMMITMENT OF FAITH: Heb 11:15,16; Gen 24:6-8, Gal 2:18

The patriarchs remained in the land where God placed them because they surrendered to the total control of God. If they had desired to return to the idolatrous land from which they were called, the opportunities were many, instead of going back, they persevered in the path which God appointed for them. Despite all discouragements, trials and difficulties they committed themselves to following that course marked out for them by God.

So firm was Abraham’s conviction and commitment that he would not go back to his native land nor allow Isaac, his son, to go there and take a wife. We, too, should

manifest the commitment of faith. Though enticements abound on every hand and tempting us to go back to the world and to vanities, but we must keep on looking unto Jesus, fixing our hearts on heaven and its glories.

O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter?  Saith the Lord.  Behold as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel. Jeremiah 18:6

Every soul belongs to God.  We cannot do without Him.  We need Him to succeed in life and faith.  Those that boast of themselves look down on the grace of God while those that write themselves off are equally ignorant of the fact that we all are like clay in the hand of God.  We should not think we can achieve anything on our own.

The moment you trust and depend on the possibility of the grace of God you will discover that all things are possible.  It is yielding to God that determines what we become.  It is dangerous to attempt to shape and mould ourselves.  Don’t make yourself what God has not made you.  We have to be flexible in the Hands of God, we have to yield to His will.  God can help you overcome that crisis, that habit, that confusion, that sin if only you can totally allow Him carry out His work in your life.

1. How can we yield to God?

2. What are the dangers of not yielding to God?

Bible Reading: Ezekiel 2:1-10

And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will for-bear: for they are most rebellious. Ezekiel 2:7

You cannot serve God and bow yourself unto the gods.  Our God is a jealous God.  His glory will He not give to another, neither his praise to graven images.  You cannot serve the creator and the created.  You cannot serve the living and the dead. “The scripture says, take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and you turn aside and serve other gods, and worship them. And then the Lord’s wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit and lest you perish quickly from off the good land which the Lord giveth you.” (Deu11:16,17)  Who do you believe in, who is your God, where do you belong? You cannot serve two masters.  There are many so called Christians who still visit demonic altars, shrines, evil prophets and priests for alternative help. Whatsoever we do on this earth, whether secretly or openly, we shall give account of it in the last day.

Confession: I will continue to serve the Living God for the rest of my life.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 7: 1-34

But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you. Jeremiah 7:23

The time of Jeremiah was one of the darkest period in Israel. The people of Israel disobeyed the word of God from the prophets. They refused instructions and corrections. They want their own way and they felt their choice is correct the prophets are just imposing laws unto them. God was so displeased until He told Jeremiah not to pray for them. God said, He was going to cast them out of His sight. God said because they refused to obey His anger and fury will be unleashed on them. God rejected their offerings and prayer. Are there not people today who don’t want to change despite all the preaching and correction? They get offended when they hear something that should bring repentance. God expects us to take heed to His word and repent. God was so close to them that they did not value His word. Obedience is the solution. Obey God and walk according to His purpose so you will enjoy His benefit.

Prayer Point. Oh Lord pours on me the spirit of obedience for your service.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 8:1- 22

We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of health, and behold trouble! Jeremiah 8:15

When God forsake any nation or individual because of stubbornness and rebelliousness, they suffer it in different ways, God allows serpents to bite them. These serpents can come in form of human being, sicknesses, hardship and delay to prayers or expectations. In this chapter, God told His children that He will consume them, they will not get peace, give them trouble, no good things will come and they shall fall. The question is why are they suffering? We may say they are stubborn and disobedient. We have done worst things than them. How many Christians today who take the things of God for granted? They don’t bother paying their tithes, they don’t mind going to church late. They speak against the church and the pastor. Immorality is no more a sin.  Anger, and bitterness have become the normal norm. We are cold, the word of God means nothing to us again. How do we expect God to hear our prayers and heal us. The only thing we can do is to repent.

Prayer Point: Lord, restore those who had fallen and revive the church with the fire of the Holy Ghost.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 9.-I-26

Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people! Jeremiah 9:1

Jeremiah saw the evil in his days and wept warning his people to desist from sin. He had compassion, brokenhearted and tenderness for the people of his days. The church today is passing through horrible situation. Instead of weeping and praying for a brother who has fallen, instead, we rejoice, mock, laugh and spread the news. We should rather weep and pray for such brother for restoration. In the other hand you should pray that you will not fall into such temptation too. We should desist from judging and condemning any fallen brother or sister. In our memory verse we are told not to trust in any brother or friends because they will walk with slanders and help to destroy you.  Let your words be few because whatever you say to a trusted friend cannot be withdrawn and he may betray you in the slightest of any provocation. Be wise and official in your relationship with others. No matter who, trust no one.

Prayer Point: Lord, keep me holy and give me the spirit of prayer.

Text: Hebrew 10:19-39

Memory Verse: And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works” Hebrew 10:24

CALL TO DEVOTION AND RIGHTEOUSNESS: Heb 10:19-25, John 10:9, Acts 2:42

The exhortation is based on the truth of the finality of Christ’s Sacrifice. Because of the establishment of the New Covenant by Jesus Christ the Mediator and perfect sacrifice, we can enter boldly into the holiest by the blood of Jesus. The new possibility opened to all Christians is that of free access to the very presence of God. The way has been opened for us by Jesus. It is a new way which did not exist in the Old Covenant. Jesus is the new living way (John 14:6). This way remains permanently open without barrier or hindrance.

What is more, through the efficacious sacrifice of our great High Priest we become part of “the house of God”- the household of faith. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ continually provide and satisfy the needs of all members in the family of God.

Steadfastness, perseverance, constancy are all necessary. We must not abandon our assurance of faith even if some promises have not been fulfilled. True children of God remain unmovable and assured of the faithfulness of God, who has promised. Believers are to keep encouraging one another as we see the final day of judgment and rewards approaching.

We are to encourage believers to steadfastness and perseverance. “Looking back” the believers are to remember the former days, the  afflictions they had endured. “Looking forward”, they should be assured that in heaven, a better and an enduring substance awaits them. The suffering of the past endured and the glory of the future being expected should encourage them to persevere till the end.

Faithful believers are reminded of the sure promise of eternal rewards if we will endure till the end. Also assures us that the coming of the Lord is very near. Saved by grace through faith, we must continue to live by faith and never draw back from the Lord. Only then are we sure of a glorious end.

The believer who endures till the end is assured of final rewards in the presence of the Lord- everlasting joy in the eternal presence of God.

For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. James 3:2

The simplest way to know the maturity of a Christian is in the use of his mouth. The way he communicates with people and his environment.  If you want to have a good life you must learn to use your mouth in the right way.  Destiny is molded by words and can be destroyed by words.  He that keeps his mouth keeps his life. The mouth is a free gift from God. It is one of the important parts of your body. Some people destroyed their lives with their mouth while others use their mouth to build their destiny. When things are going the wrong way don’t wait for anybody, confess the word of God with your mouth.  Meditation is important in confessing God’s word. You have to keep the word of God in your heart.  The greatest miracle of your life is in your mouth, never get tired of confessing the word. More power is generated when you are consistent in expressing the word.  It is a principle that has never failed.

Question1. How can we identify a mature Christian?

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 10: 1-25

O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps. Jeremiah 10:23

The deepest cry of a true believer is to please God and to do His will. We are not to practice the way of the world. The people of the world do things to please the devil in dressing, dancing and wicked imagination. Years back people worship idols. Today we worship make ups, jewelries, dressing and money. This is competition of the day, who has a well set hair and dress better? These are men’s steps, but God want righteousness and self control. If you cannot manage your temper and your fashion, you cannot be a faithful Christian. God knows our ways. He made the earth by His wisdom. Your future is in His hand. He knows your end from the beginning and the necessary steps you need to take to fulfill your destiny. If we walk out of His will, we will end in an unfulfilled life. If we obey God we shall eat the good of the Land. We don’t know the end only God knows the necessary steps we need to follow, therefore, we cannot boast.  We are to only serve and obey God.

Prayer Point: O Lord, guide my steps to follow your will so I can fulfill my destiny.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 11:1-23

Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble. Jeremiah 11:14

Here we see God placing a curse on His children because of disobedience. They forgot that they are the chosen ones. They want to be like the people of other nations in the way they conduct businesses and in their social lives. When you deliberately start looking for ladies to sleep with and following other people’s wives you have lost your mind. God want you to be clean in holiness. God says “cursed be the man that obeyethnot the words of this covenant” God is against hypocritical life. Many Christians rejected the true message and started following lies, and false prophets. God judged King Nebuchadnezzar for his disobedience. The King of Judah was warned not to disobey God but he ignored those warning, he paid no attention to corrections and preaching of Jeremiah and he ended in a shameful way. God is still judging cities and individual today for disobedience.

Prayer Point:  Search me o Lord see my heart and cleanse me. Forgive me and remember my wickedness no more.

Bible Reading Jeremiah 12: I-17

If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan? Jeremiah 12:5

God is telling Jeremiah not to think, things will be better. God said, with all this persecutions, pains and suffering you are going through now,  if you are worried and troubled by what you are seeing and happening, what will you do when things get worse? In other way, God is telling you if you are troubled now, what are you going to do when things really get bad? God is telling you to encourage yourself. Don’t think this is our permanent home. As long as the devil is the god of this world there will be problem. Let not your heart be troubled because of what you see in the nations and wickedness of man. God will visit our nation and change the situation of things but we should not relax, bad things will still happen. In the midst of persecution the Church will triumph and we shall prosper if we faint not.

Prayer Point: Lord, keep me in times of trial and help me overcome the evil of the day.

Jeremiah 13: 1- 27

Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil. Jeremiah 13:23

If a man does good to others because of Jesus he gets reward. But if he is simply doing it for his own ego and recognition, he will reap nothing. No genuine goodness can come out of an evil heart. People are use to evil, to change becomes difficult. God said as Ethiopians cannot change their skin or the leopard his spot, that they should do good, but they are accustomed to do evil. People who frown at correction cannot change. They will be offended each time you correct them. When you point out areas they did not do well,  they misunderstand and become angry.  They see you as an enemy in friends clothing. Whatever you say, even if you meant good but because of their mindset they will use it against you. No matter how powerful you preach,  they will think the Preacher is talking to them indirectly and become angry. If you cannot help them, walk away so they will not pollute you with their evil mind.

Prayer Point: Oh Lord, open my eyes so

I will know my error, Cleanse me from my pride and foolishness.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 14:1-22

O Lord, though our iniquities testify against us, do thou it for thy name’s sake: for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against thee. Jeremiah 14:7

King Josiah toward the end of his life  did foolish things and he was killed at Megiddo. Jeremiah was his friend and he mourned him. After his death, the nation went back into idolatry and God allowed drought, famine and hardship to befall them. Sometime, when God’s children face hindrances in business  and health, instead of them to look into the cause of such hindrances, they will be suspecting people around to be  witches or wizards. They will go for deliverance and Prophets will be using them for exercise and exploitation with prophecies they got from facebook and other social media. Everybody cannot be wrong. If everyone says you are difficult  to relate with, their observations may be ccorrect. So look inward and amend your life instead of being angry. Sometimes a change of life style, character, behavior and restitution is what God is waiting for, so you can receive your long expected miracle. Your repentance is very important.

Prayer Point: Oh God,break the spirit of backsliding from me.

Jeremiah 15:1-21

And I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible. Jeremiah 15:21

In the midst of God’s anger and judgment, if we repent and do the right thing God will show mercy, forgive and deliver us. God’s judgment is not forever, if we repent, He will forgive and restore what you have lost. Give no room for fear. The enemy will fight against you but they will not prevail. God promised to save and deliver his children from captivity. Sometimes, some believers are discouraged when they see unbelievers prospering, getting married and living well. The devil tried to deceive them that what is the use of living holy, going to church, giving and serving God when the unbelieving and unholy people are prospering and the righteous are not. Don’ t compare yourself with them. The gimmicks they used to get married or prosper are ungodly,  at the end they will read the consequence of their evil ways. We have to obey God’s word. Be happy to read it, and hear His word. Jeremiah said, he eats the word and is the rejoicing of his heart. To be free from captivity we must give our time to God.

Prayer Point: Lord, deliver me from my strong enemy in Jesus name.

Text:  Hebrew 12: 1-4

Memory Verse: Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God” Heb 12:2

HINDRANCES TO RUNNING THE RACE: Heb 12:1, Luke 9:59-62, 1 Cor 9:24-27

Some legitimate things may weigh us down and hinder our spiritual progress. Get rid of such encumbrances and run properly- following the rules set by the Lord. There must be loyalty, faithfulness, steadfastness, determination and discipline if we are to be approved by the Lord. There will be obstacles and there will be weariness and sometimes exhaustion but we should endure until the last mile and the finishing line if we are to win the crown.

What are the things that constitute barriers, hindrances, encumbrances?. Things of this world, cares of the world, love of the world, love of money, and sins that so easily beset or entangle us, will definitely hinder us from running well. The traditions of this world and things that make void the Word of God are great hindrances.

We are encouraged to look up to Jesus  “the author and finisher of our faith”. Then  weare to look forward to our eternal rewards lest we become weary and faint in our minds. The Christian life is a race and we must run the race, determined to win.

EXHORTATION TO THE REDEEMED: Heb 12:3,4; 2 Cor 4:16-18, Rev 2:10

The early Christians face fiery trials and persecutions that could have made them to give up their faith. These Hebrew Christians found themselves in the same situation. From the beginning, they were warned, exhorted and encouraged. Now they were being exhorted to consider Christ who endured great contradiction and opposition from sinners. This exhortation is still for us today. Looking unto Jesus, considering Him, in all our trials and persecutions, we shall not be wearied nor faint in our minds.

Disappointments and discouragement could come if we focus our attention on any man. Our victory in consistent Christian living comes and will be maintained only as we keep on looking unto Jesus. He is our Saviour and perfect example. Looking unto Him, we cannot fail or fall.

Therefore I say unto you, take  thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink nor yet for your body what ye shall put on, is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Matt 6:25

Behold the fowls of the air: For they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns: Yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are ye not better than they?  Matt 6:26. Jesus took time to remind the disciples of the relationship that exist between them and the Father.  He tried to let them know that they are important to God than food and raiment.  If the fowls of the air that don’t cultivate the ground are cared for by God how much more we his children.  God is seeking for relationship first, before any other thing.  That is why He said seek ye first the kingdom of God.  This is because when you have the kingdom, you have everything.  If He gave us His Son then there is nothing  Hecannot give.  But most Christians are seeking for the gift and not the giver.  They are pursuing the provision and not the provider.  Their eyes are on the world and not on God.  But the bible says “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.

Question1. How can we seek the Kingdom of God?

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 16: 1-21

And ye have done worse than your fathers; for, behold, ye walk every one after the imagination of his evil heart, that they may not hearken unto me: Jeremiah 16:12

God revealed to Jeremiah about the judgment coming on the land as a result of whom he was instructed not to marry. God rejected his own people because of their sins. If we reject God and turn our back on him he would reject us also. It is important for us not to leave our lives in the way of the world. We are kings and priests unto God and the way we conduct our lives matters a lot. We cannot afford to mess up anyhow and practice foolish things that don’t have eternal value. We have valued all the things more than God. We don’t go to church regularly, we hide our talents, our money and  ourother substances  from God. These are sins we practice and the imagination of our hearts and grudges. In this chapter God promised that if they repent and turn from their wickedness he will send fishers and hunters to bring them back to their land and give them their blessings. God will always forgive them and back their blessings if they repent waiting for God.

Prayer Point: Lord, help me to forgive those who have offended me so I can receive my forgiveness.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 17:1-27

Thus saith the Lord ; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord. Jeremiah 17:5

It is dangerous to trust in man. Many Christians have lost their God-given blessings because they put their trust in Man. Many people today depend on the government and their bosses in the office. You are not expected to trust your parents. If you trust in man,  God will not come to your help. My mother use to tell me, “don’t trust your brother, put your confidence in God to supply all your needs.” I  have always applied that in my life. In this chapter, we discovered that God put a curse on any one who put their trust in man. Trusting man will blind your eyes from other sources of blessing. Men may help you but never put your hope on them. If they help you,  appreciate them and be thankful. Don’t mistreat people that may help you because God can also raise you  through the people around you. So don’t mess people up.  But then, don’t trust in them. Your blessings may come through them but your source is God.

Prayer Point: Lord help me locate the people you have sent to be my deliverer so I will not drive them away in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 17:1-27

Let them be confounded that persecute me, but let not me be confounded: let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed: bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.

Jeremiah 17:18

To do evil does not pay. God has his way of rewarding everyone for whatever he/she does. If you do good, you have your reward. If you do bad, you have your reward. There are people who are always given to bad stuff because of their position or powers. Others want to dominate you because they have the money to do so. As a result they oppress and subjugate you. If you treat people because they cannot do anything against you,  just remember that the eyes of God are watching you. If you are innocent, give God time to fight for you. If you claim you are innocent but in the actual sense  you are not, when God will arise, we shall know who is actually innocent. Watch the later end of those who do evil they are always  confounded.

Prayer Point: Open my eye so I can see where I missed it and repent. Deliver me from those that will destroy my life in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 18:1-23

If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them. Jeremiah 18: 8

When God promises us a blessing, He will keep to His word. The only condition  Hechanges His mind is when we rebel and do some nasty things against him. If we repent, He will forgive. It is not compulsory that He will give you back what He promised you. Sometimes God look at it as if you cannot handle that blessing because of your previous rebelliousness. On the other hand He may give it to you but you will face delay.  Although, He will forgive you and you may make heaven but because of your disobedience, you hindered your blessings. God chastises His children by denying them of some blessing. The truth of the matter is,  even if you did not get those physical things, you will still make heaven. If you have the opportunity to repent and still receive all your blessings, you should rejoice in Him. The truth of the matter is, we should make up our minds to serve God in holiness and treat people without pride or anger.

Prayer Point: Whatever be the power of the devil that will make me fall back into sin, Lord let them catch fire.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 19:1-15

Because they have forsaken me, and have estranged this place, and have burned incense in it unto other gods, whom neither they nor their fathers have known, nor the kings of Judah, and have filled this place with the blood of innocents; Jeremiah 19: 4

We have seen some youth who have been serving the Lord, as soon as they had admissions into high schools and they move out of the city they will forsake the God of their fathers. Their dressings, social life and lifestyle will change. Some will join secret societies and start taking hard drugs. They feel because their pastor or parent are not around,  the freedom they have been looking for has come. On the other hand there are some single girls so desperate of getting married, they will be so frustrated  anddiscouraged that they will let themselves so loose, either messing around with men just to get them seduced and push them into marriage. They go ahead to pressurize the man to marry them. Time will fail me to talk about those who practice fetish things and black powers in order to get what they want. In this chapter God said he will bring evil on the land because they forsook Him.

Prayer Point: Revive the church and keep us in the fire of the Holy Ghost

Jeremiah 20: 1-18

Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay. Jer 20:9

People fight men of God today just like the days of Jeremiah, he received strokes, beaten and put into prison. Today, the persecution men of God receive is not from the unbelievers and government, they are from other men of God and Christians. They formulate lies and allegations to spoil the name of other men of God. We help to destroy a wounded believer when we are supposed to act like Jesus “go and sin nomore” instead we take stones to destroy our brother. In all these attacks of evil speaking, envy and blasphemy,  Jeremiah said “But His word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones”.  Will you still have the fire to preach if the people you have prayed for, you helped and supported are the ones casting stone on you  onwhat you did not do! Jeremiah was not moved by what people are doing to him, he still want to preach with fire in his bones.

Prayer Point: Pour the anointing of the Holy Spirit on me so that I can preach the word with fire in my bones.

Text: Hebrew 9: 15-28

Memory Verse: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation” Heb 9:28

REDEMPTION THROUGH HIS BLOOD: Heb 9:15-17, Rom 3:24-26, 1 Tim 2:5,6

By God’s standard of righteousness and justice, the soul that sins must die (Ezekiel 18:4). The only way a person could come to God was to have the penalty of his sins paid. This payment Jesus had provided for everyone who turns away from sin and trusts Him. In so doing He became the only Mediator, the only bridge between God and men. Now God is satisfied and man is pardoned when he puts his faith in the sheded blood of Christ.

From the time of  the fall, it had been repeatedly demonstrated that an innocent one must bear our guilt and punishment before we could be pardoned and set free. This message  on the means of redemption runs like a scarlet thread throughout the Scripture. Repentance alone never brought forgiveness, there must be atonement through the blood. The sacrifices of the Old Covenant were repeated so often until Christ came. He came as the final “Lamb of God which taketh away the sins of the world” His Blood cleanses us from all sins.

REMISSION THROUGH HIS BLOOD: Heb 9:18-23, Ex 24:6-8, Rev 1:5,6

A testament demands death, forgiveness demands blood, and judgment demands a substitute. A will, that a testament, does not take effect until the one who made it dies. The benefits and provisions of the  will only come to the beneficiaries  after the death of the testator.

Remission of sins and the provisions of the New Covenant are now ours through the Blood of jesus Christ, our Saviour and Lord. He had ratified the new Covenant through His own Blood, just as the Old Covenant was ratified by Moses with the blood of animals.

We were to face the judgment of God for the sins we had committed. Through faith in Christ, our sins are forgiven and will never be remembered, our hearts are cleansed and we are made righteous. We have passed from judgment unto life. Christ, through His death and blood has obtained redemption, remission of sins and righteousness for us.

Now I beseech you brethren mark those who curse division and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned, and avoid them Romans 16:17

One of the common characteristic and strength of the early church was unity of purpose.  They were pursuing the same goals and were always together.  That was the reason for their success and exploit. The devil used different ways to fight  the early church but they kept expanding and increasing in number because they were one. The easiest way to kill the body of Christ is to stir up division within them. Division can destroy a ministry and frustrate destinies.  Our anchor scripture told us to mark people who cause division in the church and avoid them because they will not help the body to grow.  There are people who specializes in bringing confusion and division among people, they are good in spreading bad news. They can easily make you hate your fellow brother in church because of their speech, the bible instructs us to avoid such people.  Such people are carrying the spirit of the devil and anytime you see them around you,  rebuke them and avoid their company.

Question1. What are the causes of division in the church?

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 21:1-14

And unto this people thou shalt say, Thus saith the Lord ; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death. Jer 21:8

King Zedekiah sent to hear the word of God from Jeremiah concerning the pending danger. What he heard from Jeremiah was not what he expected. God said He will fight against them with anger and fury. Jeremiah said,God will deliver them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. With all these they still hardened their hearts and chose the way of death. Each time we read this, many of us will say they are stubborn but I have seen many believers today if you tell them something different from what they wanted to hear they will still follow their own way and be angry with you. No matter the preaching they will not obey,  instead they will be furious and mad with you. These also have chosen the way of death. The choice is yours, you have the power to choose life or death. Your willingness to serve God in truth matters a lot, nobody can compel you to do otherwise. The death of Jesus gives life to those who are willing to follow him.

Prayer Point: Lord guide me to the end so that at last I will not be rejected.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 22:1-30

He judged the cause of the poor and needy, then it was well with him; was not this to know me? Saith the Lord.  Jeremiah 22:16

Those that care for the poor and needy attract God’s favour and blessing.    When you provide for the poor and needy, God provides for you.  Whosoever shows love to the poor enjoys God’s love. Whatever you do unto the needy, you do unto God.  The easiest way to provoke uncommon breakthrough in life is to provide and care for the poor and needy.  Though,  there are situations that needs simple obedience of giving to open the gates of heaven.  Where you are supposed to give and choose to pray because of stingyness, you will pray all manner of prayers, and nothing will happen.  The word of God cannot change because you are  a Christian. Cornelius was not a believer when God acknowledged his giving for the work of the Kingdom and visited him.  Giving provokes divine recognition, acceptance and visitation.  If you want change, change your attitude.  Blessed is he  that considers the poor, the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.

Prayer Point: Lord, make me a vessel to reach out to the poor in Jesus name.

AUGUST 21

Bible Reading:  Jeremiah 23:1-40

In those days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, The Lord our Righteousness. Jeremiah 23:6

Righteousness is doing His will without an iota of doubt, fear or contradiction.  It is serving Him with all your heart, soul and body, whether it is convenient or not.  Without the spirit of God dwelling in you, you can never live a righteous life.  Until you accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour, and allow Him to rule and have dominion over your life, you will not be able to overcome the lust of the flesh, and serve Him in truth and in spirit. The eyes of the Lord are open to them day and night, He preserves and keeps alive.  They have a right to the tree of life and to the common wealth of heaven.  If you want to shine in every sphere of life on earth, make Jesus your stronghold.  The secret of the Lord is with them that fear Him, He directs their steps according to His purpose for their lives.  They enjoy unlimited divine protection, favour,  good health and provision. The path of the just is like a shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

Prayer Point: I receive grace to do your will O Lord

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 24:1-10

Then said the Lord unto me, what seeth thou Jeremiah? And I said, figs, the good figs, very good, and the evil very evil, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil. Jer 24:3

Every tree is known by its fruits.  Some are very good and profitable, while others are very bad and evil.  In every congregation, these two distinct trees are found.  They are in work places, they are in the business circles, and above all, they are in the church.  And God knows them all. There are two kinds of people in every church that the pastor has to contend with.  Those who are committed to the work of God, they are so good that when they are not in church, their absence are noticed by both the pastor and the congregation alike.  These are the ones that never complain, that never follow others to gossip. There are also the evil trees, very evil, These are those who come to church without a purpose.  They do whatsoever they want.   They are never committed to anything.   They are the people that gossip, and bring division in the church.  Where do you belong? The Lord knows your deeds.

Prayer Point: Lord, I give myself wholly to thee to serve you with all my heart.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 25:1-38

Yet you have not hearkened unto me; saith the Lord; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt. Jeremiah 25:7

The sin of disobedience is a terrible sin.  Nothing hinders the children of God from fulfilling their purpose in life like disobedience.  Disobedience comes in many forms. It can take the form of refusal to keep to specific instruction, functioning in an office God has not called you to, courting a wrong relationship or operating in a place you are not meant to be at a particular time. No matter what form it takes the truth remains that disobedience is a terrible sin in the sight of the Almighty God,.  Disobedience compels God to turn blessings into curse.  Every act of disobedience erodes our reservoirs of God’s blessings. Nothing destroys man faster than the sin of disobedience. That is the reason why you have to check your life and find out those things that are capable of hindering you from becoming the best that God wants you to be.

Prayer Point: I receive grace from God almighty to repent from every act of disobedience in my life in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 26:1-24

If so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil, which I purpose to do unto them because of the evil of their doings Jeremiah 26:3

Every sin has side effect.  There is no secret thing you do that will not be exposed one day. You should not take the advantage of the fact that judgment is not being quickly executed, instead you are expected to repent and turn to God. I want you to know that wickedness does not pay and there is a day of reckoning for all acts of wickedness. It is better to expose yourself than to allow your sin to expose you. We should not take God for granted. Even though, God is a merciful God. Let us turn to God for mercy. There is a time of mercy and a time of judgment. We must seek for mercy at the time of mercy. Please don’t harden your heart. Don’t be deceived by the pleasures of sin. For the wages of sin is death and the soul that sins shall die. This is a wakeup call for repentance.  It is time to forsake all those sins. Repent now and you shall be saved.

Confession: Lord Jesus, I repent of my sin. Come into my heart, I make you my Lord and Saviour.

Text: Hebrew 10:1-18

Memory Verse: Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering of sin” Hebrew 10:18

The Old Covenant with its sacrifices and ceremonies were given to Israel by God. It was a shadow of the substance which was still to come-“a shadow of good things to come”. Christ is the fulfillment of the good things to come, full salvation and eternal blessings. As a shadow, it had a purpose but it was not a substitute for reality and substance.

The Old Covenant sacrifices were insufficient, ineffective and incomplete. They could not make the people perfect. The sacrifices could not fully “take away sins”. Only Jesus Christ by His Sacrifice could satisfy God and completely take away our sins. Only His death could be the ultimate sacrifice, the only effective sacrifice.

SUBMISSION AND SACRIFICE OF CHRIST: Heb 10:5-9, Ps 40:6-8, Phil 2:5-8

God was not satisfied with mere sacrifice. “Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire” “Bring no more vain oblations…your hands are full of blood” Isaiah 1:12-15). Without repentance and sincere willingness to forsake their sins, their sacrifices were unacceptable.

Jesus Christ came to do the will of God. The ultimate will of God was to offer His perfect Blood, pay the full penalty for our sins and be our perfect Substitute. His supreme mission on earth was to do His Father’s will. His sacrifice was perfect because it was offered in perfect obedience to God.

Christ’s Sacrifice dealt with sin in such a way that all the Old Testament sacrifices could not. The Old Testament sacrifices(all put together) could never take away sins but Christ’s Sacrifice took away all our sins. There is salvation, full salvation provided through the Sacrifice of Christ. When we truly believe in Christ, we are saved, all our sins are forgiven, we are cleansed, our lives are changed, we have grace and power to live victoriously.

If ye walk in my status and keep my commandments and do them; then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. Lev 26:3-4

Obedience is key to accessing the blessings of God. God loves and cares about us and has made every provision for us to have a good life but we can only enjoy them when we learn to obey God in everything.  We can only see the manifestation of God’s power in our lives when we learn to obey Him.  The defeat that the children of Israel experienced in all their battles was as a result of disobedience to the word of God.  Their victory was not tight to their power but their obedience to the instructions of God. The bible says in Isaiah 1:19 “If ye be willing and obedience ye shall eat the good of the land” James 1:25 “But whosoever looketh into the perfect law of liberty and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the word, this man shall be blessed in his deed” From the above scripture it is not enough to hear the word but we must be doers of the word.  It is what you labour for that adds value to your life.  God expects us to walk into our blessings by working.

Mention two blessings of obedience to God.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 27:1-22,

I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me. Jeremiah 27:5

God is a God of orderliness.   Make plans for yourself, give yourself a goal.  Make short and long terms plans.  When you plan your life, God will breath into it.  Which area have you allowed God to come into your plans?  It is good to make inquiry.  Ask questions.  Rub minds with wise people.  Don’t run into an adventure without asking.  Before you take a step, make inquiries from God.  If you fail to build your foundation on Christ, you will not last.  Grab Jesus first.  Don’t live a fake life.  Be yourself.  No matter what you are passing through, be positive.  Don’t envy people.  Your time is coming.  If you are not faithful in little things, God will not commit the greater ones into your care.  The way you treat Jesus will determine how life will treat you. There is greatness in you.  Learn giving.  Start from the small you have.  Your giving is your living.  Your altar must not dry.  Keep doing that thing that gives you results.

Prayer Point: I receive grace to live a Godly life without complain in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 28:1-17

The prophet which prophesieth of peace, when the word of the prophet shall come to pass, then shall the prophet be known, hat the Lord hath truly sent him. Jeremiah 28:9

We have so many prophets springing forth at an alarming rate nowadays.  And a lot of people are been carried away by this latest trend.  Some have gone as far as telling you  your phone numbers, let me ask, how does that solve your problem?  Beware of false prophets.  Stop running from pillar to post seeking for solution where there is none.  Some have caused some couples to break up while some have missed God’s plan for their lives.  The word of God is available to direct you.  Why must you pay some so called prophets to pray and fast for you.  When God has given you an open invitation  “Ask and you shall receive”   What are your desires, what are those things that are reproaches to you?  Bring them to God in prayers.  His eyes are open to our plight and He will answer you beyond what you ask of Him.   Establish a good relationship with God and He will not let you down.

Lord, I receive grace to allow your word to direct my affairs in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 29:1-32

For I know the thoughs that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11

In this life’s journey you will come in contact with obstacles, difficulties or it may even be health challenges.  The enemy may think that by placing some limitations your way, it will bare you from getting to your expectations.  But they are mistaking.  Joseph’s brothers thought that selling him will stop his dream of becoming a star but God outsmarted them.  Joseph’s brothers thought that selling him will stop his dreams of becoming great but God upturned their evil plan and gave Joseph an expected end.  God planted Joseph in Egypt to save lives.  The evil his brothers plotted against him,  God turned it for good.  Child of God, whatever the enemy has planted for your down fall, God will bring something good out of it.  Nobody can ruin your destiny.  It may look as if you are losing the battle, but I’m letting you know that you cannot lose that battle because God has promised to give you an expected end.  Stand on the promises of God that cannot fail.

Thanksgiving: Lord I thank you because I know my expectations will not be cut off.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 30:1-24

Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that spoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey. Jeremiah 30:16

Sometimes, God uses our enemies to push us to where we are destined to be.  You may have been unjustly treated.  It may seems as if God has forgotten about you.  What you think is a disappointment will turn out to be an appointment for your breakthrough.  If you turn into the scripture you will see many cases where God used the enemy to bless people.  Look at David, when Goliath was boasting to the children of Israel, none of the Israelites dared to challenge him but for David. When David faced Goliath, from every indication, David was not a match for Goliath but he knew His God and boasted with him and God gave him victory . When David killed Goliath he became more popular than king Saul.   Not only that, the more king Saul persecuted David the more he waxed stronger. I want you to get inspired and trust God in every circumstance.

Prayer Point: I am not afraid for God is with me.

Jeremiah 31:1-40

The Lord hath appeared of old unto me,  saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee. Jeremiah 31:3

Despite man’s disobedience, God has never given up on man.  He constantly craves for our fellowship with Him.  Sin has made so many people missed the mark and have toiled with their destinies. Even when Adam failed and separated himself from God,  God still loved man.  That is why He sent His begotten Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins and to reconcile us with God.  There is no other way through which you can be saved. Jesus Christ is the way.  This has paved way to   kingdom of God after leaving this world to be with Him for eternity.  If you are a sinner you have to do something about it right away by surrendering your life to Christ and forsaking your sinful ways.  Aside from salvation, there are other redemption packages in Christ death.  You are healed by His stripes.  Your breakthrough is tied to Him etc. Going to church on regular basis and  yet you have not reconciled with God will not help you.  Jesus has paid the price for our sins.

Prayer Point: Lord, draw me closer to thee on daily basis.

Jeremiah 32:1-44

Great in counsel, and mighty in work:  for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give everyone according to his ways; and according to the fruit of his doings: Jeremiah 32:19

Whatever you do, do it in the name of the Lord not with eye service.  The question is,can God count on you? There are people who do the work of God as though they are doing it on to man. They want to be noticed and want to be praised.  Before you know it they are offended.  Some do some work in the house of God to be praised by men. If you are in such category, you are not yet committed to the work of God.  Whatever assignment you are given to do in the house of God, do it as though it is your personal work.  Put in your utmost interest and commitment for the effective running of the work of God.  You can work as a volunteer to get things done in the church without looking for any kind of reward or appreciation.  You can pray for your pastor without him knowing that you are praying for him.  He rewards those who seek Him in truth.

Prayer Point: Thank you Lord for I know my labour of love is not in vain.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 48: I-22

I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I shewed it thee: lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them. Isaiah 48:5

This is a month of declaration. All you have declared will be fulfilled.  word for your life. You declare God’s word by saying, prophesying and confessing out loud in your mind and mouth what you expect this new month. God created the world by speaking. I urge you to speak to your world and create new opportunities, blessings, health and protection onGod knows the end from the beginning. Events of life may surprise you, but nothing takes God unaware. He is all knowing and ever present. Before things come to pass He declares it.  Jesus told us to speak to our mountain and anything we say will come to pass. God say things out and promises us through His word, prophecy or dreams so we will not boast of our ability. If you are born again and faithful to God, you are expected to declare God’s your life. I welcome you to a blessed and fulfilled month.

Declaration: This new month I will experience miracles I never expected. Doors of blessing will open for me in Jesus name

Bible Reading: Isaiah 49: l-26

Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Isaiah 49:15

Do you think God has forgotten you? No. For the fact that you’re facing some unpleasant situation does not mean He has forgotten you. Even at the moment when you backslide from the faith, doing things God is not happy with, do you think God has forgotten you? No. His love and mercies are so rich and speaking to your heart, “come back home”, I need and willing to forgive you. The situation and challenges you are facing in marriage or health is not an indication that God has forgotten you. He is taking His time to figure how to deliver you in such a way  it will turn out for a miracle so you will be able to thank Him that it happened. A woman may forget her sucking child but God will never forget his child. Never give glory to the devil or evil men that they are the cause of the delay. God is greater than your enemy. The time for remembrance and glory has come. Start celebrating your victory and deliverance

Affirmation: God’s love for me is amazing. He has programmed me for greater breakthrough this month.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 49: 16-26

But thus saith the Lord, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children. Isaiah 49:25

Paul said “who will deliver me” he considered himself to be a wretched and helpless man because he is aware that the sin that hold mankind captive is more powerful than any earthly empire or demonic powers. If we can be delivered from the power of lust, lies, and anger, there is hope that we can be delivered from evil inheritance, curses and evil powers contending with us. The deal is, freedom from sin, bitterness and envy is the gate way to our true deliverance from captivity. God promises deliverance for His children under captivity. No matter how terrible the enemy is, God is stronger and He is our present help in times of trouble. Your freedom will compel the kings and queens of the earth to bow down before you, serve and bring their wealth to you in honor of the Lord. You will help them spend and enjoy what they laboured for. Hallelujah

Prayer: Every captivity of sin, family inheritance, curses and demonic hindrance let them catch fire in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 50: I-I l

Wherefore, when I came, was there no man? when I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver? behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stinketh, because there is no water, and dieth for thirst. Isaiah 50:2

God is calling many of His children into active service and giving, but God has not found any. Everyone is concerned with their personal things. They forgot that whatever you give for His work has reward. There are different kinds of people in Church. Some cry because they don’t have to give. Others came to receive what others had given while others complain on what they did with the money given. Can you see the reason why it appears God’s hand is shortened as if He doesn’t have power to deliver? Our state of mind can hinder our miracle. The way a man thinks, reason and acts can stop God from sending help. Greed and selfishness can hinder your miracle. If we want God to bless us, we have to examine ourselves.

Prayer Point: Let those who condemn me wax old as a garment and let moth eat them up.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 51: I-23

I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass; Isaiah 51:12

God is speaking to His holy people not to fear the disgrace and abuse that may come from men. When those who are in power or authority castigate, berate and persecute you, do not be afraid. The demonic power they boast of shall fail them. As for those instituted authorities, they will not be there forever. God never wanted us to be afraid of men who can sleep today and never wake up. They will soon die, no matter their age, young or old. If they did not die, they will be as vegetable, which is worse than death. They will suffer on this earth that they will be ashamed to appear in public. If men fight you, be comforted and rejoice because they are using their own hands to dig their own grave. So long you follow God faithfully with a pure heart, God will fight your battle for you. If you are with God, whatever men will do against you HE will give you victory.

Prayer point: Let men who want to disgrace the name of God through me fall into a pit that they will never recover from in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 52: I-I5

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! Isaiah 52:7

In my teen age I had passion for preaching the gospel. When I discovered I have a calling into the ministry I was waiting for God’s timing. I enjoyed working in Lagos in a Pharmaceutical company as the senior Accountant. Thereafter I owned my business until I quitted and became a preacher. Today, with my experience in life, if you give me the whole world in exchange to preaching the gospel I will reject it. Last week I knelt in my room in Canada and told God I am not looking for fame and popularity, I just want to preach the gospel, bring salvation to many and be in heaven at last. The deal is, nothing is as important like spending all your money and time in the course of the gospel. There is unexplainable joy if you preach the gospel. If you sponsor Television program, or church project, there are more reward than owning a big comfortable car or house. Go out and preach to your neighbours and friends.

Prayer Point: Lord, give me the fire and passion for evangelism in Jesus name.

Text: Hebrew 9: 1-14

Memory Verse: Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary Heb 9:1

The Old Covenant had divine services instituted by God. In its day it was the best thing they had, but now it is a new day. But they were only temporary because they were designed for an earthly sanctuary. The First Covenant had rites and ceremonies instituted by God, to typify, symbolize or show us the Saviour. Though they were divine, they were also temporary services performed in a temporary, earthly sanctuary.

As there was only one door to the Tabernacle, there is only one door to God- through Jesus Christ. The pieces of furniture in the Tabernacle are also pictures of Jesus Christ. Everything is connected with our full salvation, cleansing, sanctification, baptism in the Holy Spirit, total redemption. The Ark of the Covenant was representative of Jesus Christ, who is the True Mercy Seat. It was between the wings of those angels on the Mercy Seat that God met men. Christ is the Mercy Seat, the meeting place of God and men.

“The Holy Ghost thus signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while the first tabernacle was yet standing”(Heb 9;8). The Holy Spirit teaches us clearly that:

● There was no full access to God

*Cleansing was imperfect

*Worship was limited

*Its duration was temporary

*the Holy Ghost was not yet given(John 7:39)

*The New Covenant had to come to    replace the Old Covenant

The New Covenant is better, God never asks anybody to give up anything without proffering something far better in return; and they who despise His offer are the loser. The former dispensation was a mere shadow, the latter is the real Substance. The shadows are no longer needed when the Substance is manifested. The scaffolding is dispensed with, taken away, as soon as the finished building appears. The toys or the nursery becomes obsolete when manhood is reached. Everything is beautiful in its proper season. The Old Covenant needed to pass away because the New Covenant had arrived.

God is not a man that He should lie, Neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? Or hath He spoken and shall He not make it good? Number 23:119

Men can promise and fail. Keeping promises is always a challenge with mankind but not with God. The promise of God may take some time but it will certainly come to pass. God anointed David as King over Israel through Prophet Samuel but it appears as if it will not come to pass. He almost died in the hands of Saul. It took David some time and some serious battle in the process. But at the end the promise of God over his life came to pass. God fulfilled His promise over David. Saul died and David was anointed King over Israel. Is there any promise that God has made over your life and it appears as if it will not happened? Relax your mind because we serve a Faithful God. Every word He has spoken over your life will certainly come to pass and every one that is fighting His promises over your life will all go to the grave. Never be discouraged.  Just hold onto the word of God.

Give two (2) examples of people in the bible that God fulfilled His promise in their lives.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 53: I-I2

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and by his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

In this modern age of multi-religion and secret societies with different philosophies of who Jesus is.  my question is, whose report would you believe? Jesus is not what people say. He’s not what philosophers, atheist and religion says. Jesus is what the Holy Bible says: He is the Lord of all, the Savior of the world, our Redeemer and He is coming back to take us to Himself to reign with us forever. He is the only Begotten Son of God who came down to give Himself to redeem us from sin and its consequences.  To do this, He shed His Blood as a ransom for our deliverance. He did not only borne our sin but also our sickness, affliction, sorrow, pain and poverty. He gave you the opportunity if you believe in Him as the son of God and accept Him as Lord and savior,  you shall be saved.

Prayer Point: Lord, I am a sinner. I cannot help myself. Forgive me all my sins. I receive you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for saving me, in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 54: 1-10

For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee. Isaiah 54:10

Man may lie, but God does not lie. He stands by His word. Think about this. He says even if all the mountains and the hills be removed His kindness toward us will not be removed. God binds Himself that His covenant of peace will not be removed. With this I can sleep like a baby knowing for sure that His kindness and peace will not be removed. This should not make us misbehave. No matter how you love your child if he or she misbehaves, you will discipline him or her. If we take the things of God for granted when we refuse to pay our tithes, give to His work or lack Christian character, God will discipline us. He uses delay to our expectations to discipline us. This is what He did to the children of Israel.  If we are faithful to Him, in verse 2 and 3 He promise to increase us on every side and possess the wealth of the Gentiles. I declare this is your season of enlargement.

Prayer point: Whatever be the barrier and obstacle why I am not enjoying the blessings of God, let it be destroyed in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 54:11 -17

Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake. Isaiah 54:15

The world we live in is a wicked world. Evil men and women who want bad things happen to their neighbours or relatives are everywhere. They are ready to kill and use evil power to hinder and afflict their subjects. It did not start now. Abel killed his brother out of envy. Absolom overthrew his father, King David, pursued him and plotted to kill him. Judas betrayed and sold his Master, Jesus into the hands of the enemies. This is no different today. Human agent can form alliance against you from the most trusted people or family member. No matter how you help other people’s children, they can never be your children. These wicked individual or groups may even be from the Christian fold. David said in Psalm 55: 12-15 Those who attacked him are his acquaintance and they go to the house of God together. At other times, witches, wizards use their evil powers to fight you. God said they shall fall, they shall not prosper and God will judge them.

Warfare: Let them fall that trouble me.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 55: I-13

For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. Isaiah 55:12

Prophet Isaiah made it so clear that God will never fail us. His words are yes and Amen. He never promises and eat up His word, neither will they return to Him void, without accomplishing the purpose why He sent it. Think back, record all the revelation you heard from his word, vision or prophecy you had received from the Lord, they shall be fulfilled. Even though they delay, they shall still come to pass. Don’t forget sin and disobedience can hinder your blessing. That is why you need to repent of any known Sin. Make restitution if necessary, meet people you have hurt and receive their forgiveness and blessing. Pay your tithes and give for kingdom purposes. If you repent like the children of Israel,  God’s word will still be fulfilled. With this, you shall receive your long awaiting blessing and peace which will make you celebrate and people will rejoice with you.

Declaration: I decree and declare no weapon of the enemy will stop me from celebrating in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 56: I-12

Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people. Isaiah 56:7

Many people have reduced the house of God to a play ground. When I was young we dread to go near God’s altar. We felt that was a holy place. If you go there you have to bow and make the sign of the cross before you pass through. Today people go there to relax, play and dance. No regard to the altar. The most disgusting thing is the drama group, they will enter the altar with all Satanic scary costume and demonstrating demonic activities in the name of acting. Do away with such things. “Mine house shall be called an house of Prayer” Many a time, the house of God has turn out to be for entertainment and social meetings. This is unbecoming, the house of God should be honoured. One prominent thing in our mind should be praying unto our God. Make up your mind to pray fervently. Remember fervent prayer is preceded by worship and hearing the word of God.

Prayer: Lord, pour the spirit of prayer on your church.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 57: I-21

There is no peace, saith my God, for the wicked. Isaiah 57:21

The good men are under attack by people who feel they are being neglected. As a result they use all means to fight them. It is not strange to admit that a mother can hinder her daughter from marriage. Nothing just happened. We had seen mother in law bewitching her daughter in-law from having children. A lady once told me that her assignment is to destroy homes and marriages. Once she has access to the man, the marriage will not enjoy peace, unity, love and all financial sources will be closed. Another lady told me if there is anybody that they find  difficult to kill, they will send her. She had special power to kill those people other witches can’t kill. It is surprising that many wicked people are around us. They may not have evil power, but they can use their mouth to destroy. Some wicked men use their position in authority or wealth to punish others. While others use their evil imaginations, bitterness and evil speaking to express their wickedness. The answer is clear, there will be no peace to the wicked. God will fight them for you in Jesus name

Warfare: Let all those who practice mischievous plan know no peace.

Text: Heb 7: 20-28

Memory Verse: By so much was Jesus made a surety for a better testament Heb 7:22

SURETY OF A BETTER COVENANT Heb 7:20-22, Ps 110:4, Gen 43:8,9

Christ was constituted Priest by Divine oath, which exalts Him high above priesthood under the law. Christ is Priest forever in order to show that there should never be any need of another priest, nor any possibility of a return of the Levitical priesthood. In everything Christ undertook, He was preferred above all others who were employed in the service of God or who  ever  shall be. Therefore was He made a Priest “not without an oath”.

The priesthood of Aaron was not instituted with an oath; Christ’s was. Now, that which is connected with a divine oath can never be changed, for God is immutable. The High Priesthood of Jesus can never be altered because it is based upon the eternal decrees and counsel of God. With Him there is no “variableness or shadow of turning”. The oath of God is the open declaration of His eternal purpose and unchanging decree.

The Greek word for “surety” means one who pledges his name, property or influence, that a certain thing shall be done. Christ agreed to undertake for us, fully paid our debts and has completely satisfied every demand which God had against us.

SAVIOUR TO THE UTTERMOST: Heb 7:23-25, Rev 1:18, 1 Sam 2:35

The ministry of the Old Covenant priests could not continue “by reason of death”. The first high priest of Israel “went up into mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation…and died there in the top of the mount”(Nun 20,27,28). Those priests were subject to infirmity and death as much as those to who and for whom they ministered.

Christ has “an unchangeable priesthood”, subject to no alternation, that cannot pass away. This is the final proof for the immeasurable superiority of our great High Priest over the Levitical priests. The abiding of Christ as Priest assures us of the continuance of His care for His people.

He is able, despite the hindrances and difficulties that lie in the way of the salvation of those who “come unto God by Him”, the Lord Jesus Christ is able to remove them. No matter what oppositions may arise, He is more than sufficient to overcome them all.

And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God. 1 Chronicle 13:10

After due consultation, King David agreed to bring the ark of God back to Jerusalem. Uzza dishonoured God by making an attempt to assist the ark of God which he thought was falling. That single act cost him his life.  So many Christians have always been making attempt to help God.  To some Christians God is slow, so they need to fast-track God and in the process they fall into trouble. God is not helpless, therefore he doesn’t need your help. The same ark was kept in the house of Obededom for three months and the Lord blessed his household and everything he owned.  Remember that the ark represent the presence of God.  One person disrespected the ark and was killed but another person honour the ark and it brought blessings to his life. The same thing is happening today, while some people are been blessed in church,  others are going home with many problems because of their mouth and the dishonour they showed to God.

Why was Uzza killed?

Bible Reading: Isaiah 58:1-14

And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul, then shall your light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day. Isa 58:10

Remembering the poor is remembering God.  Loving the poor is loving God.  Blessing the poor is blessing God.  And no one does all these things to God and his life remains the same.  Helping the poor, blessing the poor and the needy in the society is a commandment from God.  It is part of righteousness.   If giving to the poor is a commandment from the Lord, then undoubtedly, whosoever obeys His commandment provokes heavenly attention.  Some miracles don’t need fasting and prayer to come through, but giving to the needy, the less privilege in our midst. Miraculous healing, fruit of the womb, great financial breakthrough etc, can be provoked and made real through care for the poor and needy.  When you bless the poor and needy, God takes away poverty from your life.  He that gives to the poor lends to God.  He that lends to God is sure of bountiful returns.

Prayer Point: In Jesus name, I receive grace to reach out to the poor and needy in the church and my community at large.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 59:1-21

But your iniquities have separated  you from  your God and your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.  Isa 59:2

Sin is anything contrary to God’s will and purpose. The word of God is the standard will and purpose of God for every believer.  It is the standard of life for every born again child of God.  Disobedience of the word is disobedience to God and disobedience to God provokes divine anger.  Divine anger brings destruction.  Sin is of the devil.  It was the sin of disobedience and rebellion that made Satan lost his glorious place in heaven.  Whosoever that loves sin and dwells in it, loses his salvation. No sinner shall enter into the kingdom of God, neither shall he be a partaker of the blessings of God on earth.  God hates sin, though he loves the sinner.  He that lives in sin and dies in sin, is sure of hell fire.  While righteousness brings blessings, sin brings curses.  While righteousness pleases God, sin pleases the devil.  Eternity is certain, whether we believe it or not. If you should depart this world today, where are you going: hell or heaven?  The time is too short, make up your mind today.

Prayer Point:  O Lord, Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin again you.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 60:1-22

Whereas you have been forsaken and hated, so that no one went through you, I will make you an eternal Excellency, a joy of many generations. Isa 60:15

Our God is a God of unimaginable and  unexplainable miracles.  Behold I am the Lord, the God of all flesh, is there anything too hard for me?  There is no impossible situation before Him.  He formed the light, He created darkness, He makes peace and created the evil one.  When your enemies begin to speak evil of you, plan evil against you, hate and forsake you, know that God is separating you for an uncommon miracle.  When everyone turns against you, rejoice greatly and celebrate, because the hand of God is upon you, lifting you to greater height.  A man going nowhere faces no challenges.  Challenges are the spiritual compass directing you to your destiny.  When you move with a man that has no challenges, know that that man is going nowhere in life. God’s plan for your life is not predicated upon what people say about you. God is about to make you an eternal excellence and a joy of many generations.

Prayer Point: I receive God’s favour to be a joy to many generations.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 61:1-11

For your shame, ye shall receive double, and for confusion, they shall rejoice in their portion, therefore in their land, they shall possess the double, everlasting joy shall be unto them. Isa 61:7

They that wait upon the Lord shall not be put to shame, they shall mount up with wings as eagles.  He pulls them out of the horrible pit, out of the miry clay.  He sets their feet upon the rock and establishes their going.  He is mindful of those that wait upon him in righteousness, to increase them more and more.  He is mindful of his covenant to give them an expected end, to turn again their captivity.  In the Lord Most High is the fountain of life and in his light shall we see light.  It is your time to shine for the Lord has announced you.  Whatever you have lost in life, whatsoever the enemies have stolen from you God is restoring double for your patience and faithfulness.  Weeping may endure through the night but joy comes in the morning.  Are you going through tribulation, shame and humiliation?   You will have double for your travail.  After weeping comes the songs of rejoicing.  It is your hour of miracle.

Confession: God is turning my weeping to joy. I shall cry no more.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 62:1-12

Give him no rest till he establish, and till he makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.  Isaiah 62:7

God said to the children of Israel, you have compassed this mountain for too long, turn you northward.  Take your journey and pass over the river Arnon. Behold I have given into your hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon and his land, begin to possess it and contend with them in battles. Before you possess, you must contend in battle.   Success does not come by sitting down, it comes by standing up. Those who sit down goes down, those who stand up goes up. You must battle with God persistently in the knowledge of the word, in wisdom, in understanding and in increasing prayer.  The transformation from Jacob to Israel was a function of all night battle with God.  If God says you should not give him rest until he establishes you, then know for sure that you cannot be established until you wrestle.  Every man’s destiny is inside him.  If you can persevere, you can prevail.  It is the will of God that every believer should succeed on earth.

Prayer Point: Heavenly Father, give me the enablement to pray earnestly to you until my change come.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 63:1-19

But they rebelled and vexed his holy spirit, therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them. Isaiah  63:10

Friendship with the world, is enmity with God.  Rebellion, disobedience and disregard to the word of God is a war declaration against God. God is angry with the wicked every day.  Living in sin, in the pleasures of this world, disrespecting the commandment of God is wickedness before Him.  As righteousness is enmity with Satan, such is wickedness enmity with God.  God hates sin, therefore a sinner can never be a friend of God.  He blesses the righteous, but the way of the wicked, He turns upside down.  Do not be deceived, God cannot be mocked, whatsoever a man soweth, that also shall he reap.  Those who sow wickedness shall reap wickedness and those who sow righteousness shall reap the fruit of righteousness.  Don’t blame the witch or the devil for what you are responsible for, for what you have invited into your life.    If you turn to the Lord your God and be obedient to His word, and work in His light, the problems around you will disappear.

Prayer Point: I receive power to live a life of obedience to God.

Text: Hebrew 8; 1-13

Memory Verse; But now hath He obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also He is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises Hebrew 8:6

SUPERIORITY OF THE NEW COVENANT: Heb 8:5-7, Col 2:16,17; Matt 28:18-20

As substance is greater than shadow, so the New Covenant is greater than the Old Covenant. There should be no confusion between the shadow and the substance: the temporary and the permanent; or between the reflection and reality. A shadow has no substance in itself, no independent existence or meaning apart from what it is a shadow of. It exists only as evidence of the real thing. The gifts and sacrifices of the Old Covenant serve as shadow of what was to come. We have the reality in the New Covenant.

Christ superior seat and His superior sanctuary are evidence of His superior ministry. His superior ministry is evidence of the superior covenant, which He mediates and which has superior and better promises. The New Covenant has a better Mediator as well as better promises.

We do not need a combination of animal sacrifices and Christ’s Sacrifice, of Aaron and Christ, of the Old Covenant and the New Covenant. He is all we need. Christ, the Mediator of the New Covenant leads us beyond the earthly tabernacle right through to the presence of God to sit on the throne with Him

SUFFICIENCY OF THE NEW COVENANT: Heb 8:8-13, Rom 11:27, Luke 1:72-75

All our needs, physical and spiritual needs, are provided for, in the New Covenant. The Old Covenant was limited but those limits have been taken away from the New Covenant. God Himself is the Author of the New Covenant and He Himself called it “a new covenant” thereby making the first old.

The benefits in the New Covenant are clearly presented in total forgiveness of all sins; past sins never to be remembered by God; uninterrupted fellowship with God; God’s laws written in our hearts and minds; gracious obedience to the Lord. The New Covenant even promises every believer a resident Teacher of truth who will bring all things to our remembrance and lead us into all truth. What a covenant! What a privilege that 2wis ours!

Praying always with all prayers and supplication in the spirit, and watching there unto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. Ephesians 6:18

One of the ways we show our absolute dependence on God is through prayers. It is the expression of our insufficiency without God. Prayer is an indication or an evidence that we are helpless without God.  It is in the place of prayer that we recognize and confirm our needs to God.  A lot of Christians don’t know that when you refuse to pray, you are declaring to God that you don’t need Him, that you can do without Him.  A life of prayerlessness is declaration that you can survive without God.  When you wake up in the morning without prayer, when you eat your food without praying, sleep without praying, go into marriage without praying or even embark on a journey without praying, you are just saying to God that He is not needed, you can take care of yourself.  You may not say it with your mouth but your refusal to involve Him is an indication that He is not needed. God can do without us but we cannot do without Him.

Mention three (3) reasons why we need to pray.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 64:1-12

Since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath eye seen,  O God, beside thee, what he has prepared for him that waiteth for him. Isaiah 64:4

The glory of this latter house shall be greater than the former, and this place will I give peace, says the Lord of hosts.  There is no measure, there is no limitation to the blessing of God to them that wait upon the Lord.  There is no power on earth strong enough to stop the purpose of God in the life of a man whose foundation is rooted upon the Lord.  It is the perfect will of God that His children should enjoy the best things of life.  The Lord said, you shall be the head and not the tail, you shall be above only and shall not be beneath; where you are now is not the place He has purposed for you.  There is a coming glory that will catapult you to the top.  Very soon the world will see the glory of God in your life, in everything that concerns you and praise  the name of the Lord your God.  The Lord is doing a new thing in your life.  His mercy is taking you to a place of honour.  It is your time to shine.

Prayer Point: May the glory of God Almighty shine upon me in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 65:1-25

They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring with them. Isaiah 65:1-23

God said to Abraham, fear not, I am your shield and your exceeding rewarder.  He rewards exceedingly above our expectation.  There is a reward for the righteous.  The upright in heart is exalted to dine and wine with kings.  The eyes and hand of his God are upon him to deliver him from trouble.  Everything he puts his hand to do prospers.  Favour, mercy, open doors and divine help are the fruits of his labour. The Lord said, if you obey and serve Him, you shall spend your days in prosperity and your days in pleasure.  When a righteous man prays, heaven opens, but when a wicked man prays, heaven closes.  What you receive from God is determined by what you do for Him.  Your output is determined by your input.  God is a faithful business man.  He owes no one.  As a believer, what are you doing in the household of God so that He can reward you?  It is not enough just being a Christian.  Christianity is about service and obedience.

Prayer Point: O Lord, may I not lose my reward in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 66:1-24

Before she travailed, she brought forth, before her pain came, she was delivered of a male child. Isa 66:7

Jesus is God’s favour unto mankind.  When Adam and Eve messed up the initial plan and purpose of God for man in the garden through disobedience, precipitated by greed, which made the devil to take over the earth, the presence of God departed from man for a period of about four hundred years.  By this singular act of disobedience and lust,  man was not qualified to commune with divinity  again.  But the throne of grace being the throne of favour, decided to give  man on earth a second chance.  Jesus is the second chance of God unto man.  Whosoever works in His ordinances enjoys favour.   Favour is the spirit of God that permeates into every sphere of human endeavour, prosperity, good health, wisdom, knowledge understanding, breakthrough etc. The spirit of favour announces one and lifts him up.  Favour attracts good things and good people to one’s life.  It has a magnetic pulling force to bring every good thing of life.  You need Jesus to enjoy it.

Prayer Point: May the favour of God compass me about as with a shield.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 1:1-19

And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee. Jer 1:19

When God is with you who can be against you?  Of course the answer is nobody.  But there are some stubborn evil pursuers who have vowed to destroy you.  They have used every possible means to bring you down.  Sometimes it looks as if you will give in to defeat.   You have been tempted to lose faith in God. Those attacks should not come to you as a surprise, or as though you are experiencing something unusual. It doesn’t matter the battle or how long it has been raging, the Lord said they shall fight against thee, no doubt about it.  They will fight against you through sickness, hardship, poverty, unemployment and disappointment, definitely you know the area the enemy is fighting you, but one good thing is that they will not prevail against you.  They may pursue you one way but will scatter seven ways.  That means God will set confusion in their midst.   Hold on to God’s promise.  There is hope for you.  The enemies will not prevail against you.

Prayer Point: In Jesus name, God is with me I shall not be moved.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 2:1-37

Neither said they, where is the Lord that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through and where no man dwelt? Jeremiah 2:6

Ingratitude is lack of appreciation.  Lack of appreciation for what someone has done for an individual.  God had dealt so faithfully to the children of Israelites, delivered them from their strong enemies, brought them out of bondage and rather then beingappreciative to God they forgot Him and sought for other gods.  The Psalmist in Ps 103 admonishes us not to forget God’s benefits in our lives.  Many are guilty of not been thankful to God for His daily benefits simply because they are believing God for a particular thing that has not come to pass yet. They forgot that the air they breathe is God’s benevolence.  The good health they are enjoying is God’s doing.  Don’t make God sad because of your ingratitude.  When you look around you, you will see several reasons to thank God.

Song: O Lord I am very very grateful. For all you have done for me. O Lord I am very very grateful, I am saying, thank you Jesus.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 3:1-25

Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the Lord our God. Jeremiah 3:22

It is never God’s will that any of His children will perish and go to hell.  That is why He sent His Son Jesus Christ to reconcile us to God.  You may have gone so deep into sin, you may have involved yourself in occult practices, committed several abortions as a young girl, stole things that do not belong to you, God is ever faithful.  He will forgive and forget that you committed such sin as soon as you repent from those sins and give your life to Christ.  You become a new creature, old things are passed away behold all things are made new.  You become a brand new person.  Are you a backslider?  Have you tasted the goodness of the Lord but the cares of this life, the lust of flesh and the pride of life have made you to forget God? He is calling you back for He is willing to receive you and give you eternal life.  No matter how dark your sins are, no matter how dirty you have wallowed in the world, God will never reject you. He will wash you and you will be whiter than snow.

Prayer Point: Lord, I am ready to answer your call in Jesus name.

Text: Heb 7: 11-19

Memory Verse: For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by  which we draw nigh unto God Heb 7:19

If God had intended that the Aaronic priesthood would bring in the age of perfection with complete access to God, He would not have prophesied the Messiah to be a priest of a different order. It was never the intention of God that the Levitical priesthood would remain forever, for the Old Testament prophesied of another priesthood  to come(Ps 110:4).

The Aaronic priesthood was inadequate. It could not take away sin and therefore could not give the worshippers full access to God .There was inadequate and insufficiency in the whole sacrificial system that necessitated a change. The Old Testament patriarchs, priests, and prophets looked forward to a better period coming.

Imperfection was visible in their time but they rejoiced in the promise of a better covenant. Through the ministry of the Priest(our Saviour and Lord of the New Covenant,) we can experience victory over sin which many in the Old Covenant could not enjoy.

PRIEST OF THE NEW COVENANT: Heb 7:12-19, Rom 1:3-5, Rev 5:5

The law of sacrifices and ceremonies was peculiar to the Old Covenant. The Old Covenant had prophesied that the New Covenant would replace the Old Covenant, no priest could come from any tribe except the tribe of Levi. Jesus, the Son of David, according to the flesh, came from the tribe of Judah. His order of priesthood was not from the Aaronic priesthood but after the order of Melchizedec.

Christ is a superior Priest to any in the Old Covenant and therefore the New Covenant is superior to the Old. As the supreme Priest, Christ’s provision, sacrifice, priesthood and covenant are superior to the ones in the Old Testament.

And thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind and with all thy strength.  This is the first commandment. Mark 12:30

Every true and genuine dedication is an expression of our lives for God and his work.  Dedication simply means to love God with passion.  The bible says in 1 John 3:18 “My little children let us not love in words neither in tongue: but in deed and in truth.” This means that every genuine love for God must be confirmed with action.  Every love that is not followed by some actions is deception.  It is your action that reveals your true identity.  Therefore if we claim to love God,  our lives must portray the life of Christ.  True love is visible even to the blind because you can’t hide it.  That is the way God wants us to love Him. God wants the whole of our heart to be committed to Him because it is only those that seek Him with the whole of their heart that can find Him.  It was dedication that made God  to visit Cornelius family.  Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

1. What is dedication?

2. Mention two examples of people that were dedicated in the bible.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 4:1-31

Thy way and thy doings have procured these things unto thee; this is thy wickedness, because it is bitter, because it reacheth into thine heart Jeremiah 4:18

Are there things you have done in the past that are hunting  and  working against you? The devil had used such things to accuse you and made you feel you are not qualified to enjoy the mercy of God.  The battle is God’s own and you will not be defeated.  God will not watch and allow the enemy to swallow you.  God loves you.  He thinks good of you and will give you that which you greatly desire.   It is His will that you be in good health and also prosper.  Christ was made poor so that you might be rich.  The Psalmist said he passed through the valley of the shadow of death.  What kind of valley are you passing through?  It could be a valley of hardship, marital crises, or you are facing financial crisis, I want to assure you that you will not remain in that valley.  God will restore all that you have lost.  God is so mindful of you that He will not allow you to remain in that situation. God is making a way of escape for you.

Prayer Point: Lord, I call on you to deliver me from every battle of life in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 5:1-31

Wherefore thus saith the Lord God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them. Jeremiah 5:14

According to our text God has promised to make His word in our mouth fire, it is now your responsibility to make good use of the word of God.  When confronting the devil and his agents you are well equipped to put them where they belong. The fire coming out of your mouth should be able to devour and consume the enemies. The wicked ones will not be able to withstand you.  But before then, you need to be conversant with the word of God.  If you don’t read and study the word of God you are empty.  You are not battle ready at all.  The word of God in your mouth will enable you to win souls for Christ.  You should be able to reach the sinners around you.  Let the word of God in your mouth transform their lives.  You are saved so that you can show others the way to salvation and bring them to Christ. You should not be an agent or carrier of evil news.Don’t be a tale bearer.  Let your word be seasoned with salt.

Prayer Point: I receive grace to bridle my  tongue.

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 6:1-30

To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? Behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot harken; behold; the word of the Lord is unto them a reproach, they have no delight in it. Jer 6:10

We should not be comfortable for the fact that we have given our lives to Christ when millions of others have not even heard about Christ.  We do not well if we hoard the salvation of God.  Let us make it a point of duty to let other know the saving grace of God.  For how will they know when we have not told them. Andrew found his brother and brought him to Christ, you should start from those who are close to you.  You can engage with one on one personal evangelism.  The scripture admonished us to go into the world and preach the gospel. You may encounter some challenges, you should not allow that to discourage you.  When you prayerfully go out to witness for the Lord, God will take care of the rest.   We should give warning to those unbelievers around us.  Tell them the dangers of hell fire and heaven, the abode of the believers.  The one that wins soul is wise.

Prayer Point: I receive grace to be a soul winner from today in Jesus name.

Bible Reading:  Isaiah 23:1-18

Be still, ye inhabitants of the isle; thou whom the merchants of Zidon, tat pass over the sea, have replenished. Isaiah 23:2

Every moment counts.  Time wasted cannot be regained.  Every day is a plus for you. Each new person you meet is a plus to your life.  Whatever thing you do is for the good of your life.  Let the spirit lead.  No knowledge is wasted. You may not know the importance of that thing now but later it will speak for itself.  Don’t undermine your salvation.  Your encounter with the Lord Jesus is all you need.  His name and grace bring miracles and supernatural happenings.  Each time you talk to someone about Jesus, you are getting closer to the grace of God.  You are adding grace to grace.  I make bold to tell you that grace is stronger than works.  When you walk in grace you walk in favour.  In God’s kingdom, your input determines your output.  Grace is proportional.  Service brings grace and reward.  Until you upgrade yourself, Heaven will not upgrade you.  The best way to please God is to win someone to Christ.   May grace direct your path today.

Prayer Point: Heavenly Father, lead me in the path I should go in Jesus name.

Text: Heb 1:13-14

Memory Verse: Who have received the law by this disposition of angels, and have not kept it. Acts 7:53

THE DISPOSITION OF ANGELS: Acts 7:53, Gal 3:19, Ps 91:10-13

We find references to the ministry of angels from Genesis to Revelation and in every section of the Bible. Angels have a part in God’s Disposition of Grace as well as in the Old Testament times. When God gave the Law, it was attended by angels. The Law was given by the instrumentality of angels- “by the disposition of angels.”

God’s holy angels bring answers to prayer of the saints and make God’s Revelation known. They protect the believers and fight against their enemies, also strengthening in trial. They also lead sinners to true Gospel preachers.

APPEARANCES OF ANGELS TO MEN: Gen 16:7-12, Judges 13:8-21, Luke 1:26-38

An angel appeared to Hagar to counsel her by a spring of water in the wilderness on the road to Shur.(Gen 16:7-12)

Two angels appeared to Lot to warn and deliver him and his household from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.(Gen 19:12-17)

An Angel of God declared a blessing on Jacob after wrestling with Him until daybreak. He changed Jacob’s name to Israel and blessed him( Gen 32: 24-29).

An Angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon to encourage and commission him. And when Gideon perceived that He was the Angel of the Lord, Gideon said, Alas, O Lord God! For now I have seen the Angel of the Lord face to face! (Judges 6)

The Angel of the Lord appeared to Manoah  to inform him of the birth of a deliverer(Samson)-Judges 13

In the New Testament, Angel appeared to Zacharias to prophesy the birth of John. Angel also appeared to Mary to predict the conception of the virgin and the birth of Jesus. Angel then appeared to Joseph to confirm the supernatural conception of Mary. To the shepherds, the Angel informed them of the birth of the Saviour. And to Mary Magdalene and the other Mary the Angel assured them of the resurrection of Jesus.

And you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which the Lord our God spoke concerning you. Joshua 23:14

Joshua was encouraging the people to hold onto the promise that God has spoken over their head. He reminded them that the word of God over their lives has not failed, that every promise God made to them came to pass. It is encouraging to hear such words from the mouth of Joshua.  All of us have received a prophecy or read a scripture promise from God to you about something good that will happen in your life. These promises whether directly from the Bible or through the inspired utterance of someone are by the spirit of God. Some of you might have given up because the promise is taken too long but I have a goodnews for you. God is working on your case that He is bringing every promise to fulfillment. Like the case of the children of Israel His promises over your life shall not fail. Just hold onto it. You will soon share your testimony that will beat your imagination.

Mention one of the promises of God concerning you from the scriptural point of view.

Bible Reading:  Isaiah 24:1-24

They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing of the majesty of the Lord, they shall cry aloud from the sea. Isaiah 24:14

Fear not. Be courageous. In the midst of trouble, lift up your voice and sing of the majesty of the Lord.  Your real value is not what you are outside but what you have in your mind.   Don’t limit yourself by your words.  Dare to do things you are afraid to do.  In Josh 3:15-17, the priests stepped into the Jordan before the river divided.  When you take a step, the water will divide for you and as long as your feet are on the land, the water cannot over flow you.  The people that fight you are afraid of you.  They are scared of you.  They know what you carry.  Therefore, be very bold,  Hallelujah!  I know who I am.  You are a chosen treasure and a royal priesthood. It’s what you carry inside that makes you higher than your enemies.  If you failed to take challenges you will go nowhere in life.  Adventure matters a lot in life.  In Matt 14:28, Peter walked on the water because he was not mindful of the dangers.  He was only mindful of Jesus word: COME!

Prayer Point: In the name of Jesus I receive strength for every battle.

Bible Reading:  Isaiah 25:1-12

And it shall be said in that day; Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. Isaiah 25:9

When you wait on the Lord, He grants you your desires.  When God wants to use a man, the first thing He does is to strengthen his mind.  Courage boosts our faith.  Bold people are Heaven’s delight.  They don’t chicken out easily.  Baby Christians change their song when the going becomes tough.  The truth is that if the devil has given up on you he will attack you less.  Let the devil know that you are a ‘no go area’ for him.  Laugh when the enemy wants you to cry.  Shout and rejoice when he wants you to lament.  Don’t ever say or think that you are passing through some uncommon situations.  There is no temptation you face today that someone has not faced and overcame before.  Have the mindset of victory.  God wants to see how we will react to every situation.  God does not always rush into a situation.  He is glorified by your stedfastness.

Prayer Point: God is my strength, I shall not be afraid what man will do to me in Jesus name.

Bible Reading:  Isaiah 26:1-21

Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength: Isaiah 26:4

Happy are they that put their trust and confidence in God for He will sustain them in the say of trouble. Absolute faith in god brings you victory. In your condition never you doubt the ability of god to bring you out of any situation. God is touched by the feeling of our infirmities. Everything is naked before His eyes. He knows about what you are going through. Remember, He has power over the works of the enemy. Arise in faith and God will heal your sickness. In your weakness, continue to acknowledge that Jesus is Lord over your weakness, fear, anxiety and lack. Never  confess negatively, that is a sign of defeat. When the devil tells you, you are poor, shout it loud that you are rich. He tells you you are weak and defeated, talk back to the devil that you are strong and victories. Know the God you are serving and boost with the name of the Lord almighty. Sometimes it may appear things are getting out of hand, your health is failing you, you can believe in your heart and stand on the word of God and I assure you that God’s word will never be defeated.

Declaration: I have faith in God and I declare I am strong.

Bible Reading:  Isaiah 27:1-13

Fury is not in me: who would set the briers and thorns against me in battle? I would go through them, I would burn them together, Isaiah 27:4

God is challenging your contenders? This is enough reason to brag about God to your enemies. Every child of God is surrounded b the enemy. The devil uses people and circumstances to attack the children of God. The scripture says “Do not be ignorant of the devises of the enemy. But the goodness is that you are not alone. God is with you as a mighty terrible one. He has promised to avenge you of your enemy. Do not be terrified by their attacks. One with God is majority. With God on your side you are more than a conqueror. Have you been battling with ill health for a long time, you are coming out of the sickness because Jesus Himself took your infirmities and carried your sicknesses by whose stripes you are healed. Have you been in the valley of stagnation that it has almost become part of your life.Whatever kind of stagnation you are experiencing, this time is the expiration of that stagnation. Enough is enough

Prayer Point: Because God is with me, I can never be defeated by the wicked one.

Bible Reading:  Isaiah 28:1-29

This also cometh forth from the Lord of hosts, which is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in working. Isaiah 28:29

Very often people blame God for their woes. God can never be at fault.  A man who serves the Lord should be patient. A man who is on the Lord’s side will s

erve God with all his heart.  The fact that you are passing through some difficult times does not mean that God is no longer on your side.  That is the time to stand tall for your faith.  Don’t follow multitude to compromise your faith.  Let your mind be always positive about God.  Refuse to see any fault with God.  Praise God for everything.  No blessing or pursuit is worth your compromising your faith.  If you stand for nothing, you will fall for everything.  Let people know you for something.  Let your faith in Jesus be known to those around you.  We should have the faithfulness of Job who said that “Though He slay me, yet will I trust him…” (Job 13:15) Stand for righteousness. As a Christian, people around you should be able to trust you to some extent. Examine yourself.

Confession: Lord you are wonderful in counsel and excellent in working and I will always depend on you.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 29:1-24

Yet I will distress Ariel, and there shall be heaviness and sorrow: and it shall be unto me as Ariel. Isaiah 29:2

There is no peace to the wicked. Wickedness does not pay. A wicked person may appear successful but mark the end of that man.Tragedy is inevitable. Every wicked person is under the curse of the Almighty God. Most people do not consider the end of a thing. There is a way that seems good to a man but the end is destruction. There is a reward for every action under the sun. Delay is a reward for every action under the sun. Delay in judgment does not mean a wicked person will go unpunished. There is always a day of reckoning. You don’t need to be a witch or wizard to be classified as a wicked person. It is the condition of your heart and your actions that defines you. God sees everyone’s heart. You cannot deceive God. Wicked thought and evil imagination makes a person wicked. A wicked person will always be condemned by his conscience, That is why they will never have peace. This is an opportunity for you to search yourself  and change for better.

Prayer Point: Most High God, create in me a clean heart in Jesus name.

Text: Heb 2:1-4

Memory Verse: So great salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord,  and was confirmed unto us by them that heard Him. Heb 2:3

EXHORTATION TO RIGHT RESPONSE: Heb 12:25,26; Prov 4: 20-22, 2 Pet !:12-15

Christ’s message is inseparably interwoven  with  His Person. We cannot think of His message without thinking of His eternal pre-existence, His incarnation, His supernatural birth, His perfect, sinless life, His miraculous acts and deeds, His resurrection and ascension, His eternal exaltation. Jesus and His message are one. You cannot reject any portion of His message without rejecting Him and  facing the eternal consequence.

In the original, the words, “lest at any time we should let them slip”(Heb 2:1) have a nautical sense of a ship which is drifting, one that has no anchorage. The language is both graphic and appropriate.  Most people do not go headlong and intentionally into hell. They drift into it. Most people just slowly ,almost imperceptibly slip past the harbor of salvation out to eternal destruction.

CONFIRMATION OF GOD’S WORD: Heb 2:3,4 ; John 10:37,38;  Rom 15:19.

This great salvation – salvation from sin- was first preached by Christ. The doctrine of salvation- justification by faith in Christ- is not a new doctrine. Our Lord, Jesus Christ, who provided it on the Cross as He died for our sins, preached it clearly before He went to the Cross. Then after His resurrection, He commanded His Apostles to preach the same message to all creatures in the whole world.

Christ, in His earthly ministry confirmed His message with “miracles and wonders and signs”(Acts 2:22). God gave similar confirming signs through the Apostles, in the first century of Gospel preaching after the resurrection and ascension of Christ. God bore witness to the message of salvation  preached by the Apostles by giving them the gifts of the Spirit to do the same things that Jesus had done- miracles, wonders and signs.

The Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ’s is supremely a supernatural Gospel, attended by supernatural power. God has never left His true disciples destitute of that invaluable affirmation of the truth of His Word. God still confirms His Word with signs following.

Now when they had escaped, they then found out that the island was called Malta. And the nations showed us unusual kindness; for they candled a fire and made us all welcome. Acts 28:1-2

The kindness of God is always beyond human ability and often goes beyond our expectations. The love that God showed upon us is a demonstration of His Kindness. This Kindness or favour or goodness of God will cause people to do things for us that they wouldn’t have done under normal circumstance. It is the kindness of God that compel strangers to fight on our behalf and even cause our enemies to bless us. “When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him” Proverb 16:7. From the above scripture we have seen that our ways must please God before we can experience the unusual kindness of God in our lives. To achieve this we have to walk with him through a life of faith and holiness because without faith it is impossible to please God. I pray that the unusual kindness of God comes upon you now in Jesus name.

How does God demonstrate His kindness toward us?

Bible Reading:  Isaiah 30:1-33

Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me: and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin. Isaiah 30:1

If you must be a candidate for God’s blessing, you must always take counsel from the Lord.  You must be a person with stable spirituality, that is, prosperity does not affect your discipline, simplicity and commitment to the Lord.  God blesses people who will maintain their spirituality despite the blessings of God upon their lives.  Prosperity should not affect your consecration.  No amount of money should reduce our prayer life.  Our hunger for God should be incurable.  God blesses people who walk in love and not in strive.  It will be a mistake to think that your prosperity is as a result of your own efforts.  Bless God for every good thing you see in the lives of others.  Don’t be angry at the progress of others. Be a good listener.  If you cannot be advised, you cannot be advanced.   You must always remember that God is the Source of your blessings

Prayer Point: Lord, give me the grace to depend on you for direction in life in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 31:1-9

Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help, and stay on horses, and trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but hey look not unto the Holy one of Israel, neither seek the Lord. Isa 31:1

Since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, the earth has been characterized with challenges, trials and temptations.  There is no life without challenges.  They come in different forms and measures.  The scripture says, “Have respect unto the covenant, for the dark places of earth are full of the habitations of cruelty” Trials come not only from the devil, they come also come God to test your faith, trust and confident in Him.  God told Abraham to sacrifice his only son Isaac to Him.  God gave Joseph a covenant of greatness.  As a believer, where do you go when you are faced with trials?  Many so called Christians move from one prophet to the other, from one native doctor to another looking for help.  Where you go for help determines what you get.  David said, “I waited patiently for the Lord and he inclined unto me and heard my cry.  Wait upon the Lord.

Prayer Point: In times of trouble, I am rest assured God will defend me.

Bible Reading:  Isaiah 32:1-20

Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.  Isa 32:15

Anything that stands as a barrier to frustrate or stop you from manifesting the purpose of God for your life, from achieving your heart desire is the wilderness of your life.  Poverty, barrenness, sickness and disease, joblessness and sin are some of the wilderness of life.  No one has the ability to overcome the problems facing him in life without help from God.  Nothing can change in the life of man unless God brings change.  Your knowledge can achieve nothing without God’s help.  There is no miracle and there is no testimony without God.  How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power, and he went about doing good and healing all that were afflicted of the devil for God was with him.  If Jesus needed the presence of God to do signs and wonders in the lives of man, you can do nothing without His presence.  His presence gives you assurance of every good thing of life.  There is no impossibility in the presence of the Lord.

Confession: In Christ I trust, nothing can hold me bound

Bible Reading:  Isaiah 33:1-24

And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of your times, and strength of your salvation, the fear of the Lord is also his treasure. Isa 33:6

By wisdom the earth and the fullness thereof was formed, by understanding, the heavens and the fullness therein were created and only by the knowledge of the word can one prevail on earth and obtain eternal salvation.  A man without wisdom, knowledge and understanding is like a fig tree without fruit, he is  man without future, coming from nowhere to nowhere, for out of nothing comes nothing.  For if God said they are the stability of your life, the strength of your salvation and your treasure on earth then obviously you can’t become anything on earth. You can’t become anything on earth without them and heaven will be a mirage to you. Wisdom, knowledge and understanding are the seeds of greatness.  They have inherent divine supernatural power to give you every good thing of life, both spiritually and physically.  Whosoever possesses these supernatural gifts, possesses the world.

Prayer Point: O Lord, endow me with the spirit of wisdom, knowledge and understanding in Jesus name.

Bible Reading:  Isaiah 34:1-17

Seek ye out of the book of the Lord, and read, no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate, for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them. Isa 34:16

As God is permanent, constant and everlasting, such is His word.  As He is faithful and righteous such is His word.  He is the word that was, that is and forever shall be.  Everything in heaven and on the earth is a product of the word spoken by God.  Therefore, everything we desire in this world and in heaven must be obtained by the word commanded by God.  The Bible is the word  commanded by God concerning all things in heaven and on earth which shall certainly come to pass.  The Bible is a divine inspirational composition of God’s perfect commandment to all mankind.   The Bible is a complete God’s way of life which must be adhered to, whether convenient or not.  Every word of God is His covenant and it does not fail.  It is written, “My covenant will I not break nor altar the thing that is gone out of my lips.”  Read the word every day, for in it contains every desire of your life.

Prayer Point: Lord, let your word be a light unto my path

Bible Reading: Isaiah 35:1-10

Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing, for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.  Isaiah 35:6

It does not matter how long you have been in travail of life.  It does not matter how long you have been waiting, praying and weeping for a miracle for the fruit of the womb, for break through, for healing, for a good job etc.  Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.  It is your morning, it is your turn to rejoice and celebrate, for they that wait upon the Lord shall not be put to shame.  Abraham waited and saw the glory of God, Joseph waited and saw the glory of God, Israel waited in Egypt and saw the glory of God.  It is your turn to see His glory.  It is your turn to testify of His goodness.  Job endured and refused to shift ground despite obviously terrible affliction until his change came.  He said, “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him, but I will maintain my own ways before him.  All the days of my appointed time, will I wait till my change come.  If you can continue to look up unto him in faithfulness and righteousness, your desire change will undoubtedly come.

Thanksgiving: Lord I thank you because my miracle is guaranteed in Jesus name.

TEXT: Heb 1:4-7

Memory Verse: Being made so better than the angels, as He hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. Hebrew 1:4

GENERAL FACTS ABOUT ANGELS: Ps 148;2-5, Heb 12:22, Luke 2:13-15

Angels were all created before man. They do not have the infirmities that men have. They are of a higher order than man- an amazing creation of God. After the fall of all rebellious angels with Lucifer, the angels remaining in heaven were no longer subject to sin. Satan and the fallen angels will be tormented in everlasting fire at the end of this age(Rev 20:10). God’s holy angels are powerful and wise. They are innumerable. Angels do not marry and unable to procreate. They do not subject to death. Their number, therefore, neither increases by procreation or by additional creation nor decreases by death or by annihilation.

Angels often appear as men but may also appear in other forms. Concerning the angel who appeared at Christ’s resurrection, we read, his countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow. And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men”(Matt 28:3,4)

THE NATURE OF ANGELS: Heb 2:16-18, Ps 104:4, Luke 24:39.

Angels have a superior nature to that of men. Man, in his present state, is lower than God’s holy angels. Angels are not like men who are plagued with infirmities, weaknesses, prone to tiredness, death, limited by time and physical conditions. Men, living on earth, are subject to frailties and oppression which angels, living in heaven, are free from. While men can be tempted, can sin, fail God and be lost, angels are holy and sinless. Hunger, thirst, weariness and decay, known to all men are unknown to angels. Angels are spirits, not having flesh and bones like men.

Angels are powerful and mighty, only two angels destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. A single angel smote 185,000 armed Assyrians in one night. Angels are holy and obedient to God. They are intelligent and wise, glorious, immortal, heavenly spirit beings. They need no rest, they can appear visible and invisible and can move at inconceivable speed.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good work and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16

Our lives as children of God have been programmed by God for good works and when we do that our lives shine brighter and brighter to the glory of God. Good works are inspired by the spirit of God and it reduces the  suffering that people are going through and consequently draw people to God. God wants us to be rich in good works and will even bless us financially so that we can be good to other people. Command those that are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust on certain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give and willing to share” 1 Timothy 6:17-18. When we make up our mind to do good in spite of the evil that is done against us, then we are acting like our heavenly Father and the world will testify of us as the true sons of God. Even the anointing of God upon our lives is for good works. “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the holy spirit and with power who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him’ Acts 10:38

What do you understand by rich in good works?

Bible Reading: Isaiah 36:1-22

Now therefore, give pledges I pray thee, to my master the king of Assyria and I will give thee two thousand horses, if thou be able on our part to set riders upon them. Isa 36:8

What is your imagination, what in this world is worth exchanging for your salvation?  What is your desire, what is your expectation, what do you want to be in this world that is worth a better alternative for your God?  Hezekiah was told to sacrifice his people, his God, his salvation and honour for two thousand of horses.  Many Christians have turned away from serving the Lord their God in pursue of worldly treasures and pleasures.  Money has become a substitute for God in the lives of many people.  Politics and urge for power have taken many people from the presence of God.  There are many people in the church today who pretend to be believers, but are ardent chronic agents of darkness; appearing among the children of God in the day and in the night, they dine and wine on the altar of the devil.  Many so called Christians shed innocent blood to acquire the things of this world.  The church is fast drifting away from the word to the world.

Pledge: I will never go back to the world anymore

Bible Reading: Isaiah 37:1-38

And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messenger, and read it, and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord. Isaiah 37:14

What is your challenge in life?  What is that thing that is giving you sleepless night? Is it poverty, sickness, barrenness, satanic affliction, joblessness, marital instability?  No matter how hopeless the situation looks like present it before the Lord your God and have faith in His Supernatural ability to take it away.  With God, all things are possible. Ps 118:6 says “The Lord is on my side, I will not fear, what can man do unto me?”  Nothing can prevail over a man that put his trust in the Lord.  He is the Banner, the Shield, the Buckler and Sustainer of all that  trust in Him.  When Hezekiah received the letter from the enemy, he did not cry or accused God of allowing the calamity over him he did not take the letter to man for assistance or advice, he took it into the house of the Lord, upon the altar of the Most High and went on his knee in prayer.  God heard him and arose from him and delivered him from his enemy.

Prayer Point: Heavenly Father, I trust in you for all my needs to be met in Jesus name

Bible Reading: Isaiah 38:1-22

And I said, remember now, O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth, and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in your sight.  And Hezekiah wept sore. Isa 38:3

What is your identify before the Lord?  What is your qualification, confidence or testimony before the Lord?  What kind of record do you have in heaven?  The scriptures confirm that whatsoever we do on earth whether good or bad is recorded in heaven.  We can never be greater in heaven than what we are on earth.  Your title, your position or possession are not important in your assessment in heaven, but your works, your service, your obedience to God’s commandments.  Your righteousness is what determines your relationship with God and what you get from Him.  Your being a Christian, your going to church alone is not a criteria to provoke blessings from heaven.  Salvation is not only by confession, but also  by action.  Hezekiah was sure of his place in heaven, he was sure of his record.  When problem came, he reminded God of his works of righteousness.  God looked through the records and reversed his decision.

Prayer Point: I receive grace to make impact to my generation in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 39:1-8

Then said he, what have they seen in thine house?  And Hezekiah answered, all that is in mine house have they seen, there is nothing among my treasure that I have not shown them.  Isa 39:4

Your secret is what distinguishes you from others.  It is what makes you unique.  Your secret is your stronghold, your defence city and your driving force.  Our God is a God of secrets.  The scripture says “The secret things belong unto the Lord our God, but the things which are revealed belong unto us and our children forever, that we may do all the words of his law” (Duet 29:29).  As believers, we are children of God, co-heirs with Jesus our heavenly inheritance, but God does not and cannot reveal all things unto us, but that which He feels we have need for the work of the kingdom.  If God reveals all His secrets unto man, He ceases to be God.  Concerning rapture, Jesus said He knew not the day nor the hour, but the Father only.  When you have no secret, you expose yourself to great danger, people use it to fight and destroy you.  Hezekiah exposed all his secrets to his enemy, God became angry.

Prayer Point: Lord, give me wisdom.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 40:1-31

The voice said, cry.  And he said, what shall I cry for?  All flesh is grass, and the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field.  Isa 40:6

Life without Christ Jesus is absolute vanity. No matter how successful you may have grown, you need Jesus    As the grass grows tall and greenish, and shortly dries away and returns to dust, so is the value of man on  earth.  Whatever the level of your achievement in this world it perishes in this world.  The world and the fullness thereof is a temporal abode.  Out of the dust of the earth was man formed, and unto it shall all flesh return.  We came into this world with nothing and we must leave it with nothing.  Life on earth and everything thereof is a passing phase.  Since our days on earth are numbered and we don’t have the power to add a second to it, since we can’t leave here with anything, what then are we living for?  Don’t live a wasteful life in this world.  Give your life to Jesus.  Surrender all unto Him.  Let Him rule over your life.  Salvation is the only thing man can leave this world with.    Eternity in heaven or hell is determined here on earth.  Make a choice now, tomorrow might be too late.

Prayer Point: Lord Jesus, give me the grace not to miss my mark in life in Jesus name

Bible Reading: Isaiah 41:1-29

For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, “Fear not; I will help thee. Isa 41:13

Having read our text, it is enough courage that we should be able to face whatever negative thing or situation with confidence.  No wonder the Psalmist boldly declared “If God be for us who can be against us”.  One of our problems still boils down to the fact that our lack of studying the word of God which will expose us to the knowledge of the promises of God is limiting our access to God’s blessing we so desired.  The Psalmist went ahead to say that “They that know their God shall do exploits.  God is your Helper and He has assured you of His help in the hour of our need. What no man else could do for us God will do it.  God went further in verse 21 “Produce your cause, saith the Lord; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob.” God wants us to bring our reasons before Him in prayers and He will grant us our hearts desires.  Complaining has never and will never bring solution to our problems.  The scripture says “Woe to them that go to Egypt for help.

Prayer Point: I am not afraid, God is my help

Text: Heb 2: 5-9

Memory Verse: For unto the angels hath He not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak. Heb 2:5

For a little while, Jesus Christ became man- lower than the angels. This refers to the incarnation, when Jesus became man and thus became subject to suffering and the limitations of time and space- Christ is now exalted above all angels and the whole creation. And redeemed man, much lower than the angels now, will one day be exalted as king with our great King, the King of kings.

The Jews thought that Jesus was inferior to the angels because they saw Him as a Man of a humble condition. They did not see on Him any of the apparent honour which belonged to angelic beings. It was proper, since He came to redeem man that He should be a Man, and not take on Himself the nature of angels. Yet God had never put the world to come in subjection to the angels, as He had to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Christ, having pre-eminence over the angels voluntarily took on Him the form of a Savant and came to die for our sins. The time is coming when all things shall be put in complete subjection under Him. This Christ, the King, died a Vicarious (for another).

He “tasted death for every man”. The atonement made by the Lord Jesus is “for every man” whether Jews or Gentile, bond or free, high or low. God is “not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”.

I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming and leaveth the sheep and fleeth John 10:11-12

Jesus is not just a shepherd, He is the good shepherd. This means that there are bad shepherds (hirelings). People that don’t really care for the sheep that God has given them. They care for the sheep only when there is something to gain from it but when there is danger they run away. When your involvement in church is not to serve but for personal gain, you will easily walk away when the road is rough. Good shepherds on the other hand, cares very well for the sheep and even give his life for the sheep. He knows every little detail about his sheep, the life of Jesus while on earth exemplified that of a good shepherd and he continued to shepherd us today in a spiritual service. One good evidence of a good shepherd is in the quality of the life of the sheep. Good shepherd always feed his sheep that is why Jesus wants us to prosper.

1. What are the characteristics of a good shepherd?

2. Who is a hireling?

Bible Reading: Isaiah 42:1-25

And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not, I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight.  These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them. Isaiah 42:16

You can imagine a blind man going about without a guide such man will stumble into so many things and fall several times.  Yours may not be physical blindness.  It could be spiritual blindness.  Know for certain that you are worse off than someone that is physically blind. If you are such, I have a good news for you.  God will direct your path.  You have been toiling for years with nothing to show forth, God is ready to show you the way.  And one of the ways to receive direction is the word of God. That is why you should always avail yourself of all the weekly activities and Sunday service for the word of God will be made known to you.  Also the servants of God are available to counsel you in the area of your need.  If your business is going down and gaining admission to further your education seems not forth-coming. You cannot fight the battle alone.  You need help for direction in life.

Prayer Point: I receive help for direction in Jesus name.

Bible Reading:  Isaiah 43:1-28

For I am the Lord they God, the Holy One of Israel, they Savior; I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee. Isa 43:3

God is with us and His love is sufficient unto us.  He is not the God of the half empty or half full in our lives.  He is the God f the exceeding abundantly above all we could ask or think.  When He fills our cup it is to overflowing.  God knows our needs.  Nothing we face is too big for Him to handle and will not over look the tiniest of our needs.  The enemy is the destroyer but the good thing is that God has promised to restore the things the enemy has taken from our lives.  All the years of ill health, poverty, frustration, broken relationship, regrets including the pains of lost opportunities He has assured us that He will restore. God is  our Father and we will not lack any good thing.   When we asked for bread He never gave us stone. If He did not spare His only begotten Son but gave Him up for us, there is nothing He will with hold from us.    Not only will He restore, He will protect us from the enemies within and without.   God is compassionate and tender to His faithful children.

Prayer Point: Lord I ask in the name of Jesus that you restore all that I have lost.

Bible Reading:  Isaiah 44:1-28

I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a loud, thy sins: return unto me, for I have redeemed thee. Isaiah 44:22

The scripture has this to say in 1 John 3:1 “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.”  It is a privilege to be called a child of God.  If you are a sinner and yet to give your life to Christ, come to Him as you are.    There is no sin that is too much for God to forgive.  He sent His Son Jesus Christ to rescue someone like you.  He did not come for the righteous but the sinners.  Take that bold step and reconcile with your Maker so that you will be a partaker of what He has promised His children and most importantly the salvation of your soul.  Are you a backslider, He is calling you back with a stretched out arms He will receive you back. He will abundantly pardon your iniquities.  He will forgive and will remember your sins no more.  Do not hesitate to take your decision right now and make it right with God.

Thanksgiving: Lord thank you for your saving grace upon my life.

Bible Reading:  Isaiah 45:1-25

Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. Isaiah 45:22

Look unto God on every aspect of your life and you shall be saved.  God is never indifferent to your needs.  He is always responsive to your needs.  His ears are always listening to our prayers.  There is never a time you are not in His thoughts.  You should not allow what you face in life to dare you or rob you of the sense of God’s presence in our life.  Some of the things that war against you such as disappointments, difficulties, sickness etc should never be allowed to come in between you and your God.  Because God is faithful you should always depend on Him.  You can lean on Him because He is the Almighty.  God will never leave you empty.  If you have lost anything He will replace it with something better.  If He has denied you of any request it is because He wants to give you what is best.  If He demands for your tithe it is because He wants to give you something greater.  All you need to do is to completely put your trust on Him.

Prayer Point: God of Comfort, comfort me on every side in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 46:1-13

Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure. Isaiah 46:10

It is of God’s good pleasure that you are alive and the purpose of God for your life will not die. God has ordained you for glory and dominion even before you were born. Your existence is not for fun. You are extra-ordinary. You will get to where God wants you to get to. Those that want to abort the plan of God for your life are time wasters. Your enemies do not have a say in your life. Frustrating your life is frustrating the counsel of God.  You have been ordained to succeed. Your purpose is success and you must succeed. Anything short of that is ot God’s will for you. The present challenges you face are part of the divine process to bring you into your purpose. Don’t be scared of opposition. Remember what Joseph went though yet God’s counsel over his life prevailed. Those that fight you are ignorantly building you up to become the champion you are made to be. God’s purpose will be fulfilled in your life.

Prayer Point: Lord Jesus, I receive grace to fulfill my divine purpose in life.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 47:1-15

For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me. Isaiah 47:10

God is a loving and merciful but His anger falls on the children of the disobedience. If you are a child of God but taking the grace of God for granted, you should repent and turn back to God. Don’t put your trust on your wickedness. Those evil acts will fail you. Wicked is wickedness.  Come out of it. The grace of God is there for you to stop your evil ways. When you say no to a particular bad habit you are battling with your will power will naturally comply. Take a step by reading the word of God and following the principles theren. Are you a sinner without a Saviour? It is never the will of God for you to die ad go to hell. His will is for you to repent and accept Christ as your Saviour. In so doing, God will pardon you. He will give you abundant  life and His ears will be attentive to your prayers. Make your decision now for it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Prayer Point: Lord, I ask for your grace to live above sin in Jesus name.

Text: Hebrew 1:4-14

Memory Verse: But to which of the angels said He at any time, sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Hebrew1:13

A MORE EXCELLENT NAME: Phil 2:9-11, Rev 19:12-16, Prov 30:4.

Jesus Christ is proclaimed as being “so much better than the angels”- better than all angels of every rank. Some cults and religions teach that Christ is no greater than a mere angel. Jesus cannot be compared with the greatest of angels. He is greater. “Angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto Him(1 Pet 3:22).Angels are servants of God and the Church but Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Head of the Church. As a son has a rank in a family above servants; as he has a control over the property above that which servants have, so it is with Christ. “He hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they”(Heb 1:4).

Christ’s more excellent Name” is Son. :For unto which of the angels said He at any time Thou art My Son”. Though the angels, created by God and believers, recreated by God are referred to in general as sons of God, yet the title, “The Son of God “ has been given only to Christ. He is God’s “beloved Son”(Matt 3:17, 17:5)

CHRIST’S SUPERIOR NATURE; Heb 1:7-9, Ps 45:6-7, John 10;30-33.

Again, angels are contrasted with Christ to show that Christ is infinitely greater than the angels. The angels have inferior nature and a humble ministry. He maketh His angels spirits (like wind) and His ministers a flame of fire (like lightning). The purpose of the passage is to show that the angels serve God in  a ministerial capacity, while the Son is Lord of all. While angels are referred to as servants, Christ acts as a Sovereign ax Lord over all, and is addressed and regarded as equal with God.

Both the Old Testament and the New Testament agree that the Messiah is God. The number of passages addressing Christ as God in the Scriptures is overwhelming. Anyone who sincerely reads these simple passages in the Scriptures will have no doubt that Christ is God.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies: You anointed my head with oil; my cup runs over. Psalm 23:5

Over flowing blessing is the signature of God. It is an evidence that God is at work in your life and family.  The God of the over flow is working in your life and it will soon be visible for every eye to see.  The reason why God prepares the table in the presence of your enemies is because He wants to stop their mockery over your head.  He wants to put them to shame.  When Jesus was going through the agony of the cross they were laughing and making mockery of Him.  But at the end He was glorified by God.  All you need is to hold on to god and be faithful to Him.  To experience the over flowing blessings of God you must be a lover of God.  You must be a giver because God will never waste His blessings on people that do not genuinely love Him.  God’s blessings always come on those who obey and serve.

1.What do you understand by your cup will run over?

2What do we need to do to experience God’s over flowing blessings.

Bible Reading:  Song of Solomon 3:1-11

I will rise now, and go about the city in the streets, and in the broad ways I will seek him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not. Song of Solomon 3:2

The book of Solomon is a poetry indicating Christ as the Bridegroom seeking for HisBride through love, we the church. We are the maid, the wife, bride and sweet love of Christ described in this book. In this chapter we see Christ going in the street looking for us His true love and sometimes described the beauty of the church with body Amdahl comely beauty figure of a woman. Sometimes our Lord allows us to search and seek for awhile before He makes Himself known to us again (Proverbs 1:28). Is He playing games with us? Not at all. He’s teaching us not to take our relationship with Him for granted. Verse 4 “I held him, and would not let him go.” It tells us to maintain an unbroken fellowship with Christ. It is easy to let other interest crowd into our lives so that we lose the sense of His presence. You need to seek the Lord personally. “And you shall seek Me and find Me when ye shall search for Me with all your heart.”

Prayer Point: I receive grace to maintain an unbroken fellowship with Christ.

Bible Reading: Song of Solomon 4:1-16

Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee. Song of Songs 4:7

As we read this chapter, we should see that the Spirit of God is trying to show us Christ’s love for us. It is expressed through this very wonderful and personal relationship. It shows to us the love of Christ for the church and His love for the individual believer. This is the love song of the Bridegroom, the Lord Jesus Christ. It is obvious that He speaks of the church when He says, “Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee” (v. 7). In Ephesians Paul says, “… as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word” (Eph. 5:25–26). He’s already cleansed us by the blood; through His sacrifice we have the forgiveness of sin, so that there is no charge brought against us. But He is also going to sanctify us and cleanse us by the Word of God. “That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish” (Eph. 5:27). He will be the One who will make the church without spot or wrinkle, we will be seen in Christ.

Prayer Point: Lord, we are thankful for your love for us.

Bible Reading: Songs of Solomon 5:1-16

I sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying open to me, my sister, my love, my dove,  my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night.  Song of Solomon 5:2

Christ shed His Blood because of His love for the church.  This is a tool for atonement from time immemorial.  Christ’s heart still bleeds for the sinners who refused His love by not repenting from their sins. He paid a huge price. It is the Blood of Christ that brought about our redemption.  His Blood brings life through salvation.  If you join someone’s blood with your own, the properties of that person are transferred to you.  So also is the Blood of Jesus.  It is the Blood of Jesus that empowers and authenticates our covenant with God.  If you are yet to pass through His blood, you are a non-starter.  A living sacrifice must be based on the blood of Jesus and must be firmly connected to Him.

Prayer Point: Lord Jesus, I thank you for you undeniable love for the church.

Bible Reading:  Songs of Solomon 6:1-13

Whither is thy beloved gone, O thou fairest among women? Whither is thy beloved turned aside? That we may seek him with thee. Song of Solomon 6:1

The love God has for the church is indescribable.  Even while we were still sinners Christ died for us. This shows you the kind of love God has for us. For those who have not taken the decision to give their lives to Christ, Christ is looking for you. You need to reciprocate that love Christ has given you.  Don’t let anything take you away from the love of God. When the devil is close to you to deceive you just know that Christ is closest to you with His abundant grace. Holdfast to your confession that Jesus is your Lord and Savour. He came to set youfree and to reconcile you to God.  Do not allow His sacrifice to be in vain. Grab this opportunity. Do not lose your salvation Hold unto Christ for He is with you. Now that you are living the life of Christ you are covenanted with success. You will have wealth and be in good health. Failure becomes far away from you. Whatever you lay your hands on becomes prosperous.

Prayer Point: Heavenly Father, circumcise my heart that I may love you more than ever before in Jesus name.

TEXT: Hebrew 4:12-16

Memory  Verse Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. Heb 4:14

PERFECTION OF OUR GREAT HIGH PRIEST: Heb 7;25-28, Isaiah 53:9, 1 John 3:5

Having called attention to the inescapable, searching light of God’s Word, next  is to redirects our attention to our desperately needed High Priest, Jesus Christ, the Son God. The Holy Spirit here designates Christ the “great High Priest”. This emphasizes the supreme dignity, excellency and sufficiency of our High Priest. We are reminded of the holiness and purity of Christ. The prince of this world came, but found nothing in Him. Christ is such a great and glorious High Priest, yet He is full of sympathy andtender compassion for His people. He is merciful as well as Omnipotent.

Let us hold fast our profession, let us persevere, in running the race that is set before us. Our great High Priest loves and watches over us. He prays for us and He is willing and able to hold us fast. Jesus, our perfect High Priest, is able to keep us victorious over sin. What a great and glorious High Priest. He knows what it means for us to be tempted. He overcame all temptations and “He is able to succor them  that are tempted(Heb 2:18).

PROVISION FROM THE THRONE OF GRACE: Heb 12:18-24, Rom 8:15-17, Phil 4:6,7

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace”. Jesus Christ,  the Son of God, our merciful High Priest, our  Mediator and Intercessor, is seated on that throne. He, at the Father’s right hand, having  totally fulfilled and displaced the Mosaic order, offers grace and mercy to us. We come boldly. Our boldness is only in and through Jesus Christ. Coming boldly to the throne of grace in prayer and faith, we find grace to help in time of need.

The Saviour knows  how weak His disciples are. He knows what we need to overcome the flesh, the world, sin and Satan. We can come to Him expecting full, tender, deep sympathy and strength. He is ever ready to strengthen and comfort, to restore and empower us. He says to everyone of us “My grace is sufficient for thee” His all-sufficient grace is ever available

Jesus answered and said unto him, if a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him and will come unto him and make our abode with him John 14:23

The proof of love is beyond mouth confession. We have too many Christians that always profess theirlove for God but in reality they don’t love him. Jesus told his disciples in the above scripture that if you claim to loveme, then you must keep my commandment. Obedience to God’s instruction is the proof of our love for Him. Your love for God is questionable if you walk in disobedience. The reason we don’t see more of God’s manifestations in our lives is because we are walking in disobedience. Let’s go beyond confessing our love for God and prove it with our actions. Let thelife we live, the way we dress and our conduct represent the gospel. Blessings of God can be accessible through obedience. If ye are willing and obedient ye willeat the good of the land.If our earthly parents love their obedient children, how much more our heavenly Father? Obedience is a proof that you trust God.

What is the proof of your love for God?

Bible Reading: Songs of Solomon 7:1-13

I am my beloved’s, and his desire is toward me. Song of Solomon 7:10

Love is the nature of God. They that live in live in God. Except you live in love, true love without dissimulation, the spirit of God is not in you. The Scripture says “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone that loveth is born of God and knowth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God, for God is love.” Everything about God and heaven is hanged on love. Nothing works in heaven without love. There is no righteousness without brotherly love.. Heavens are closed against a man who lives in malice, hatred, strife, unforgiving spirit, constant anger and the likes. You can’t say you love and hate your brother or neighbor for whatever reason. There are many liars in the church, they claim to love God but have evil intheir hearts. Love is the master key that can open every door in heaven.. Love the Lord thy God with all your heart and love your neighbour as yourself.

Prayer Point: I receive grace to love God and my neighbor with all my heart.

Bible Reading: Songs of Solomon 8:1-14

Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned. Song of Solomon 8:7

Love is the key that opens every door. Prayers, tongues and visions are good but the greatest is love. What can take you from where you are to a high ground is love. It is love that brought Jesus from Heaven and made Him to endure the agony of torture and death. We are not blessed because of our righteousness but the love of God upon us. God heals and delivers us because of his love for us. Without love we cannot enjoy any spiritual experience. God expects that nothing should separate us from His love even when things go wrong. The love of Christ is supreme. If you love God and are passionate about Him, you will enjoy a lot of blessings from Him. If you cannot give your tithes and offerings to Him, you have not started loving God.

Prayer Point: Let the love of Christ dwell with me richly.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 1:1-31

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Isaiah 1:18

Man has often turned away from God because of one reason or the other. So many times had the children of Israel turned their backs on God because of lack of trust and disobedience to God’s word. Times without number they paid dearly for their actions. God does not turn away from man, nor forsake him except on account of disobedience and quest for other gods. But the moment you return to God He accepts you back and command His blessings upon you. You may be suffering from untold hardship or even sickness and you begin to look elsewhere for solution. Remember, you cannot serve God and devil at the same time. You can only get God’s attention when you focus your faith and trust in him. And if you have wondered far away from God because of the things of the world, the Lord is calling you back. Return to Him and He will be your God and He will fight your battles for you.

Prayer Point: In the name of Jesus I will never serve other gods.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 2:1-22

O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the Lord. Isaiah 2:5

We have often taken some vital decisions without seeking for wisdom to go about our business. No matter how insignificant a matter may be take it to the Lord in prayer and know what He is saying to you about the situation. That is why sometimes we get stuck in a spot. Wisdom is profitable to direct. Don’t go about your life living in a game of changes. A young man who is desiring to get married should first seek the face of God to get the right life partner so as to avoid marital problems in the future. The choice of institution should also not be taken for granted because when God is with you, He will preserve you all through your academics. Be like David who never did anything without consulting God that is why he recorded so many victories during his reign as king. Seek God early and He will be found. Don’t wait until it is late before you consult God. To avoid unnecessary hardship, you should not make God your last resort. When you make God your business partner, you will succeed.

Prayer Point: Lord as I seek you, may I be found of you.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 3:1-26

Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Isaiah 3:10

We are not slaves to circumstances. Whatever a man sows he reaps. That is why we should be careful how we treat others. If you treat people with respect, they will respect you. If you love people, you will be loved. If you give to God, he will give back to you. If you sow bountifully in the vineyard of God you will reap bountifully. If you are generous and considers the poor, God says He will remember you in the day of trouble. It is only a thieve that will go to harvest where he did not sow and a terrible consequences awaits him. Any wicked man that sows in unrighteousness, know for sure that evil will not depart from his abode.  As a member of a church you are expected to visit your church members and get acquainted with them. Don’t wait for people to visit you. Be the one to visit both new and old members in the church you belong to. Do not cease in doing good. The scripture admonishes us that we should not be weary in well doing for in due season we shall reap if we faint not.

Prayer Point: Lord, give me the grace to live a righteous life in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 4:1-6

And the Lord will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shinning of a flaming fire by night for upon all the glory shall be a defence. Isaiah 4:5

You should be able to tell yourself that even if the worst happens, God is there for me.  We have to be still to have victory.  You cannot hear the voice of victory when your heart is troubled.  Don’t let the devil push you to a corner.  It is when we are alive that the devil tempts us.  If God must intervene in our situation we must be still.  Trying times are not times to open our mouths and begin to talk anyhow because this can cause virtue to drain from us and we will be lacking in spiritual energy.  Be calm in the midstof troubles.  See troubles as if they are not existing. You should know and be conscious of the protecting power of God.  The presence of God is with you right there in the midst of the storm.  Stop thinking in a way that will depress you. When the devil attacks you with an array of depressing challenges and attacks, just open your mouth and laugh the devil to scorn.

Prayer Point: I shall be still and see the salvation of the Lord upon my life.

Text: Hebrew 6:9-20

Memory Verse: That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us. Hebrew 18

FOUNDATION OF GOD’S PROMISE: Heb 6:13-15, Ps 105:9-11, Luke 1:73-75.

The promises of God are not based on our unstable feelings and emotions but on the faithfulness of God who cannot lie. Who can we trust? Not Satan, who is “the father of lies”. Not men in our society who make lying the norm of human behavior. Who can we trust? The only One who can be trusted without reservation is God. Why? Because it is “impossible for God to lie”. This holy nature of God is the foundation for our faith in the promises of God.

God’s promise to Abraham was confirmed by an oath. Abraham knew that God could not fail. He had God’s word of promise, and he knew that He must keep it. He believed and waited patiently until the promises were fulfilled. We know that God cannot fail. Let us believe and wait patiently until the promises are fulfilled (Heb 10:36).

FAITHFULNESS TO HIS PEOPLE: Heb 6:16-20, Ps 33:11,12; Jer 33:20-22.

God has given us the guarantee of His faithfulness. All angels and redeemed men in all generations confirm that God is always faithful. He cannot deny Himself. He cannot deny His Word. What He has promised, He will do. There are two immutable (unchangeable) things revealed I Hebrews 6:18: God’s promise and His oath. They are without any possibility of change or variance. We can flee for refuge in Christ and “lay hold upon hope” in Christ which is a “sure and stedfast” “anchor of the soul”. He is faithful. He cannot fail.

There is no question about the faithfulness of God. The question is how much faith do we have in God. Let us be diligent and prayerful, following and obeying the Lord in all things, at all times.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10

It is important for us to understand the nature of God so that we can start enjoying his goodness in ourlives. The acts of God are different from that of Satan. A lot of people are confused about this and they end up attributing a lot of Satanic activities to God. We should always remember that God is a good God and the devil is a bad devil. There is nothing good that comes from the devil. Everything God does comes from a good motive and is designed to have a good outcome. We may not really understand the working of His plans and dealings, but we can be rest assured that he is bringing something good out of them. On the other hand we must understand that everything the devil does is from an evil motive and is designed to cause death, loss and distraction.  It is not the Lord’s doing that you are sick, that you had an accident, it can never be God. If it is not good then it can never be God.

Bible Reading:   Isaiah 5:1-30

Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine influence them. Isaiah 5:11

Alcoholism is a destructive and retarding spiritual wind blowing like a wild fire across the world among the old and the young.  The word ‘woe’ above means troubles, problems, great unhappiness, and misery.  In other words, drunkenness is a curse.  When a man or woman is addicted to alcohol, both his physical and spiritual life are greatly afflicted.  Many men and women who were born great, who were supposed to affect and influence their generation positively, have passed through the world un-noticed, because of their addiction to alcohol.  They drink about from one place to another, from morning to evening, they have abandoned the Lord, their God.   Why are you living in pleasure that is leading you to eternal destruction?  What is your hope here on earth?  What is your hope hereafter? Life is a decision.  Come out of that deadly path.  You can do it.

Prayer Point: Father, deliver me from every destruction in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 6:1-13

Also I heard the voice of the Lord saying, whom shall I send, and who shall go for us? Then said I, here am I, send me. Isaiah 6:8

God created the earth and created man in His image, likeness and spirit and handed over the earth and its fullness therein unto him, to enjoy every good thing thereof.  Man out of the insatiable lust of his heart, negotiated God’s creation and handed over the earth to the devil.  God needed to regain his lost glory.  Somebody had to come down from heaven to restore and reconcile the world unto God. There was none qualified but for his redemptive blood, we would not be qualified to be called sons of God.  He redeemed us from the hands of the devil and gave us everlasting life.  His assignment to every believer is to go into the world and win souls unto the Father. What have you done to this call?  Soul winning is the heart beat of God.  The scripture says “And they that be wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever. The question is, are you a soul winner?

Prayer Point: Lord, I declare that nothing will stop me from carrying out my Kingdom assignment in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 7:1-25

Thus saith the Lord, it shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.  Isaiah 7:7

Your destiny is not subject to negotiation, neither can it be changed by some diabolical negative forces.  When God decrees anything saying, it shall not stand nor come to pass; it is conclusive.  There is no power in heaven or on earth that can contend with the word of God to change it.  You are what God says you are.  You are whom God says you are; you will get to the level God has purposed for you and possess your possession so long as you remain in the covenant of the word.  What causes destinies and promises of God to change in the lives of believers is not the devil or the activities of witchcraft as orchestrated by some people.  Rather, it is as a result of the failure of the believers to keep faith with God, working in the light of the word and keeping and obeying the conditions there. Every blessing of God has condition attached to it.  It is the obedience to the condition that gives access to the benefits. Devil has the right to afflict any life that is living in disobedience of God’s word.  Let your hand be clean.

Prayer Point: Lord, I depend on you for my better tomorrow in Jesus name.

MAY 16

Bible Reading: Isaiah 8: 1-22

Speak the word and it shall not stand, for God is with us Isaiah 8:10B

Be still and know that I am God, says the Lord, Nothing can be more promising and certain than this.  Every believer is insured in the Blood and supreme name of Jesus.  Jesus said, “Behold I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you” His thoughts concerning you are for good to give you an expected end, to lift you to your dreamed haven. You are a product of tremendous miracle.  It is your time to shine.   Don’t be intimidated by the false and imaginary manifestation of the devil around you.  God said, why do the heathen rage and the people imagine vain things, they intended evil against you, they imagined a mischievous device which they are not able to perform.  Be strong in the Lord and look unto him with faith and see an unbelievable transformation in every sphere of your life.  If God says you are promoted, you are healed, you will have your baby, let all the demons gather together in protest, it will change nothing.

Confession: God’s divine assurance covers me.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 9:1-21

The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones, the sycamores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars. Isa 9:10

Life is a social ladder, full of activities.  Some are at the top of the ladder, some are at the middle, some at the foot of the ladder and many more are yet to get to the ladder.  But all have one common interest, to get to the top.  The ladder is so wide that it can never be full at any time in life.  Everybody has a space in it.  That you have not gotten to the ladder yet does not mean that you cannot get to the top of it.  Everybody has an opportunity to get there.  It all depends on you.  That you have tried several times and failed does not make you a failure.    Nobody in life is a failure until he falls and refuses to rise again.  God said, if you fall six times, even in the seventh time he will raise you up.  Nobody is created for the top, the ability, the strength and the potential to get there is inherent in you.  Shake off the dust, strengthen yourself in the word, arise and occupy your place.  You can make it in life, you are not a cast away. You are a giant.

Confession: Because Christ lives, I can face tomorrow.

MAY 18

Bible Reading: Isaiah 10:1-34

And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off your neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing. Isa 10:27

The anointing is the power of God, His presence, His strength and supremacy, without which it is impossible to prevail over the forces of darkness.  The scripture admonishes us to look unto God and be saved, for without Him, we can do nothing.  The devil does not respond to any authority on earth outside the name of Jesus.  What you need to come out of every hopeless situation in life, what you need to come out of poverty, sickness, bad dreams and demonic attacks is the Mighty Hand of God.  Until He stretches His hand to the source of your problem, you cannot come out of it.  But you must have a relationship with Him before He can take over your matter.   For you to live a life free from satanic molestation you must accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and live a righteous life and have faith in Him.

Prayer Point: Lord, I receive power to over-come the powers of darkness in Jesus name.

Text: Hebrew 5:11-14

Memory Verse: “For every one that useth milk unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe” Hebrew 5:14

DESCRIPTION OF PERPETUAL BABES: Heb 5:12,13 ;1 Cor 13:11, Eph 4:14

The Corinthian Christians as well as these Hebrews had been believers for many years, yet they had not passed the state of infancy. These spiritual babes were weak, ignorant, immature, inexperienced, unskillful, unable to teach others. A person may have been a Christian for twenty or thirty years, but if he is not growing, not forgetting the things which are behind, and constantly pressing on to higher consecration, he is a “babe” in actual experience.

Christians who are perpetual  babes remain in the lowest class of learners. Instead of walking by faith, they are influenced by things of sight, they seem to always have a need to be taught afresh “ the first principles of the oracle of God” (that is, the first lessons, the rudiments, the elementary truths of Scripture). Our spiritual maturity or immaturity determines how much the Spirit of God would reveal to us from Scripture.

Growing Christians, progressing to “full age” outgrow baby talk, baby motivation, baby diet, rudiments and elements of earthly comfort. The strong meat of gospel teaching is appreciated and assimilated by those who have left the state of spiritual infancy. They have grown in knowledge, in faith, in love, in self discipline, in endurance, in understanding, in consecration, in usefulness and service.

The spiritually mature Christians “have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil”(Heb 5:14). It is only by constant, diligent study of the word, constantly setting our affections on things above, daily meditating on the work, office and glories of Christ, earnestly supplicating the Spirit for grace and love, absolutely leaning on God, that we attain and maintain spiritual growth and maturity.

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: For God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempt he any man: James 1:13

The goal of every temptation is to lead a man into wrong doings and if that is true then temptation can never originate from God. Sometimes you hear people say that they are tempted by God but this is incorrect. The problem is that they mix up the terms “temptation” and “test”. These two words are translated differently. To tempt a person is to lure him or her into committing sin or into doingsomething that they should not be doing. To test a person on the other hand is to prove the person, it’s a way of checking if a person is qualified for a particular task or not. The Bible said in 1Timothy 3:10 “But let these also first be tested: then let them serve as deacons, being found blameless. Throughout the Bible God will always test people before He entrust them with Kingdom resources. This is different from tempting people to do evil 1 Cor 10:13 the devil will always ride on our lust for the things of this world to tempt us into committing sin. James 1:14-15 “But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

Question: What are the sources of temptation?

Bible Reading: Isaiah 11:1-14

And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. Isa 11:2

Christianity without the supernatural is just another religion. Christianity is not just a religion, but the power of God dwelling in the lives of men on earth for the work of the kingdom. Right from creation, God purposed that man should possess His qualities to enable him have dominion over His creation.  That was why God created man in His image, likeness and spirit.  Though sin robbed man of his privileged position, Jesus came and restored same unto man.  Col 2:10 clearly states that we are complete in Jesus who is the head of all principality and power. If there is anything a child of God should look for in life, it is the power of the supernatural. Wisdom, understanding counsel, might and the knowledge of the word are the spirits of God.  If the spirit of the Lord abides not in the life of a believer, he walks in emptiness and is prone to spiritual manipulation of the forces of darkness.

Prayer Point: I receive God’s supernatural power to do exploit in Jesus name

Bible Reading: Isaiah 12:1-6

Therefore with joy shall you draw water of the well of salvation. Isaiah 12:3

Joy has a driving, magnetic pulling force that draws good things unto the life of him that possess it.  Joy is the pathway of life to greatness, to pleasure and good health.  It is the manifestation of the presence of God in the life of a believer.  A joyful heart manifests peace, love and kindness which are the spirits of God.  As honey is sweet in the mouth of men, so is the face of a joyful man in the eyes of men.  As good perfume attracts the attention of men so does a joyful man attracts people to himself.  Joy attracts favour, mercy, grace, divine connection and help work where there is joy, peace and righteousness.  But a contentious heart, an aggrieved spirit, a squeezing face is repulsive in the presence of God and to people.  No one will want to have a deal, or be attracted to someone that is always angry, unaccommodating and unsubmissive. Do you want to experience uncommon favour, mercy and help then tune to joy.  Redesign your heart and your spirit of rest on joy.

Prayer Point: In the name of Jesus I command good things to come to me always.

Bible Reading:  Isaiah 13:1-22

Behold the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate, and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it. Isaiah 13:9

Sin brings reproach, limitation, hindrances, stagnation, failure and ultimately eternal death.  Though God loves the sinner, He hates sin.  Sin is not only when you commit adultery and fornication, rob or steal.  When you do the work of God deceitfully, when you are unfaithful in dealings with people, when you are disobedient to constituted authorities, both spiritually and physically you are sinning against the Lord.  Uncontrollable anger, malice, lust for worldly life, lustful dressing that causes others to fall are sin before the Lord.  Every action of man on earth, whether good or bad, attracts a proportional reaction in heaven.  There is no secret before the Lord.  Christianity or the church is not a hiding place for spiritual misdemeanor.  God is not a respecter of man.  A sinner is a sinner whether inside or outside the church.  Search yourself and amend your ways.

Prayer Point: Lord, give me power to live above sin in Jesus name.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 14:1-32

The Lord of hosts has sworn saying, surely, as I have thought, so shall it come to pass, and as I have purposed, so shall it stand. Isaiah 14:24

His word is not only final, it is everlasting.  He that created the heaven and the earth all by Himself and for Himself has the final say in the works of His hand.  He does not need counsel from anyone in heaven or on earth to do what pleases Him.  He does not work according to the thoughts, but according to the mystery of His will and His good pleasure which He had purposed in Himself.  When God says yes concerning any matter, no man can say no, and when He says no, no one can say yes.  When He raises you up,  no one can bring you down.  For the Lord of host has purposed and who shall disannul it and His hand is stretched out and who shall turn it back?  With God, there is no hopeless situation.  In Him and with Him, all things are possible.  The impossibility of every man is only but the imagination of his own heart.  Impossibility and failure are alien in heaven.  You must carry the spirit of God to see things the way He sees them and act the way He acts.

Confession: O Lord, my trust is in you.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 15:1-9

For the waters of Dimon shall be full of blood; for I will bring more upon Dimon, lions upon him that escapteth of Moab, and upon the remnant of the land Isa 15:9

People live their lives anyhow as though they will not give account of their lives.  Some have taken laws into their hands.  They no longer have the fear of God.  Because of the position they are occupying, they have made themselves gods.  They oppress you on all sides.  Have they also denied you of your promotion?    They have pursued you non-stop.  Some have even threatened to take your life.  Dear Reader, they may have used their evil means to dry you to zero level or even tempered with the lives of your loved ones.  The Lord is telling me to tell you that the wickedness of the wicked has come to an end in your life.  The enemies terrorizing you all these years, the judgment of God will rain upon them and there shall be no way of escape for them.  God has given them room enough to repent but they would not.  They have hardened their hearts but like Pharaoh they shall all be drowned in the sea of their wickedness.

Prayer Point: O Lord, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end in my life.

MAY 24

Bible Reading: Isaiah 16:1-14

And in mercy shall the throne be established; and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David judging and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness. Isa 16:5

The mercy of God has brought us this far.  If not for the mercy of God we would have been long devoured by the devil and his agents.  They could not hold us bound because of God.  God says “He knows the thought He thinks towards us, thoughts of peace and not of evil”  The fact that God is thinking of you should give you enough boost to face each day.  A child of the Most high God should not be living at the mercy of the devil.  You must take charge and live up to the expectation as a child of God.  Be a terror to the devil and not the opposite.  Don’t be a disappointment to God.  Jesus has paid the price for you to live in abundance.  He has paid the price for you to live a victorious life.  Anything short of these is not God’s fault.  You need to examine yourself.  Be positive about life.  Talk life into every dead situation confronting you. A closed mouth is a closed destiny.  Change your mentality and face your future with confidence and trust in God.

Prayer Point: Have mercy on me O Lord.

MAY 25

Bible Reading: Isaiah 17:1-14

And behold at eveningtide trouble; and before the morning he is not.  This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us. Isaiah 17:14

Many a times we cry and grumble about the pursuit of the enemies.  But do you know that sometimes they pursue you into your miracle. No wonder,David knew the God he trusted and that was why he confidently said “God prepared a table before me in the presence of my enemy”.  I want to tell you now, that even in the midst of the crises you are facing God can still elevate you.  What the enemy meant to bring you down will lift you up.  Not only that, your enemies will not escape the wrath of God.  It may seem they are having upper hand on your life because of various disappointments which hadtrailed you over the years.  They cannot over take you, for they that know their God shall do exploit.  How do you do exploits, how do you fight your enemy?  First and foremost, you must be born again, confess your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour.  Having done this, you must hold the word of God in high esteem.

Prayer Point: God is with me, He will fight my battle.

Text: Hebrew 6: 4-8

Memory Verse: Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God Heb 3:12

DESCRIPTION OF APOSTATES: Heb 6:4-6, Jer 2:3, Luke 11:24-26

The people described in Hebrews 6:4-6 were once enlightened, tasted of the heavenly gift, were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, tasted the good word of God, tasted the powers of the world to come before they fell away from the faith-falling away and became rebellious and blasphemous.

These once knew the Lord, and later backslide to the point of sinning habitually, defending sin, actively promoting, encouraging sin, denying Christ, causing backsliding of others. Apostates do not take a single leap into apostacy but many steps that eventually lead to that state. First, backsliding and repeated backsliding. Second, there is a deliberate rejection of God’s Word and mercy. Third, they have love for deceit and false doctrine. Fourth, they deny Christ and His atoning sacrifice. Fifth, they preach error and doctrines of demons. Finally, they attempt to corrupt God’s people and cause others to backslide. In their apostacy, they close the door of eternal life against themselves and seal their doom.

Backsliders who fall have hope of restoration: apostates who fall away have no hope of restoration and final salvation.

DAMNATION OF APOSTATES : Heb 6:7,8 ;Matt 7:19, 25:41 ;Rev 20:15

Rejection, cursing and burning are the words used to describe the doom and damnation of apostates. Backsliders and apostates are warned and reminded that :it is a fearful  thing to fall into the hands of the living God”(Heb 10:31). Rebels should tremble and repent before it is too late, “ for our God is a consuming fire” (Heb 12:29).

Severe and stern judgment of God is awaiting impenitent sinners and apostates. Their punishment is vivid and terrifying. Apostates will suffer in hell. Hell fire or the lake of fire is described as “ outer darkness where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Matt 8:12). Those who fall away from the faith will finally “go away into everlasting punishment”(Matt 25:46)

Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst give him drink: for in so doing thou shall heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good” Romans 12:20-21.

Good will always overcome evil because the forces of good are superior to and more powerful than the force of evil. We have to be careful not to yield to the temptation of using evil to respond to evils. That is, doing evil things back to those who have done evil things to us. If we resort to using evil to contend with evil, the result is that darkness will prevail and the devil will win in such cases. This is why the devil consistently temptus to get back at people who hurt us. But God always want us to be good to those thatare wicked to us. We must cultivate and practice good works as a life style. If we are to maintain the flow of God’s goodness in and through our lives. Good deeds are like seeds that will grow one day and yield result. The solution to evil is not guns and bullets, we have so much of them but evil is on the increase. The solution that the Bible gave us is “Be not overcome of evil but overcome evil with Good” As much as you can please help people around you.

How can we overcome evil?

Bible Reading: Isaiah 18:1-7

All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when he lifteth up an ensign on the mountains; and when he bloweth a trumpet, hear ye. Isaiah 18:3

There are so many signs in the world pointing to the fact that the end is near.  What are some of these signs.  Many shall be lovers of money and of themselves.  Evil shall abound.  Parents shall be against their children and children against their parents. Because of these the love of many shall wax coldBut as a child of God, this is the time for you to be vibrant for the things of God.  You should not allow the evil day to take you unaware.  Study the word of God as never before.  Reading God’s word is one thing.  Following its instruction and putting it into practical application in your life is another thing.   The word will make you steadfast.  Remember to preach to others about Christ.  You cannot afford to let your relations and neighbors to be outcasts and leaving as though they have no Saviour.  Someone has to share the love of God and the sacrifice God as made for them already.  And it is your responsibility to do that.

Song: Make me ready x2 Make me ready O Lord, in the morning in the night, any time you will come, make me ready O lord.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 19:1-25

And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians; and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbor; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom. Isaiah 19:2

The scripture says it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of God.  God is a merciful God and also an angry God especially to the sinners because He hates their sinful ways.  I pity those who take the love and mercy of God for granted.  Because He is not quick to judge, most believers live their lives as if there is nothing at stake.  Some see sin as part and parcel of life. When the children of Israel were misbehaving during their wilderness journey, God threatened to withdraw His presence from following them to the promised land. And because they knew the implication, Moses had to quickly intervene, “If your presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here (Ex 33:15) And they repented immediately.  Do not wait for the anger of God to fall on you before you change from your sinful ways.  Young ladies, beware of those things that stand on your way to serving God.  Without Christ you can’t make the best of life.

Prayer Point: Lord, may I not take your love  for granted in Jesus name.

MAY 29

Bible Reading: Isaiah 20: 1-6

So shall the King of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians captives, young and old, naked and bare foot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt. Isaiah 20:4

Happy are they that put their trust and confidence in God for He will sustain them in the day of trouble. Absolute faith in God brings you victory. In your condition never you doubt the ability of God to bring you out of any situation. God is touched by the feeling of our infirmities. Everything is naked before His eyes. He knows about your barrenness, joblessness, hardship and your marital crisis. He has power over the works of the enemy in your life. Arise in faith and God will heal your sickness. Even in your weakness, continue to acknowledge that Jesus is Lord over your weakness, fear, anxiety and lack. Never you confess negatively, that is a sign of defeat. When the devil tells you, you are poor, shout it loud that you are rich. If he tells you, you are weak and defeated, talk back to the devil that you are strong and victorious. Know the God you are serving and boast with the name of God almighty.

Confession: Have faith in God, declare that you are strong.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 21:1-17

Therefore are my loins filled with pain: pangs have taken hold upon me, as the pangs of a woman that travaileth: I was bowed down at the hearing of it; I was dismayed at the seeing of it. Isaiah 21:3

What we hear affects us either ways.  God created the ear so that we can effectivelycommunicate with the world but what we hear matters.  The people you listen to matters.  The church you attend matters too.  A man is controlled by what he hears.  Some people have died because of the type of information they heard.  What you hear can either build your faith or destroy it.  Wrong words dry up the bones.  Wrong words can lead to hypertension or HBP.  Whatever you don’t want, don’t talk about it.  Wrong words can affect your spirit.  Every negative word you hear will be interpreted to your spirit and can give you depression.  The devil often uses this evil tool to steal believer’s blessings.  Wrong words can make you afraid of your family, your parents and you start running away from them. You can make your neighbor better people by not provoking them.  Use the right words on people.

Declaration: I shall not be afraid of evil tidings for God is with me.

Bible Reading: Isaiah 22:1-25

And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and non shall open Isaiah 22:22

Every moment counts. Time wasted cannot be regained. Every day is a plus for you. Each new person you meet is a plus to your life. Whatever thing you do is for the good of your life. Let the spirit lead you. Words that Noah spoke became words of prophecy even when he was drunk. When you walk in grace you walk in favour. In God’s kingdom, your input determines your output. Grace is proportional. Service brings grace and reward. Until you upgrade yourself, Heaven will not upgrade you.

Confession: The grace of God is sufficient for me.
